From that chamber, and from that mansion, I fled aghast. The storm was still abroad in all its wrath as I found myself crossing the old causeway. Suddenly there shot along the path a wild light, and I turned to see whence a gleam so unusual could have issued ; for the vast house and its shadows were alone behind me. The radiance was that of the full, setting, and blood-red moon, which now shone vividly through that once barely-discernible fissure, of which I have before spoken as extending from the roof of the building, in a zigzag direction, to the base. While I gazed, this fissure rapidly widened – there came a fierce breath of the whirlwind – the entire orb of the satellite burst at once upon my sight – my brain reeled as I saw the mighty walls rushing asunder – there was a long tumultuous shouting sound like the voice of a thousand waters – and the deep and dank tarn at my feet closed sullenly and silently over the fragments of the “House of Usher .”

Interesting having sent out two stories on twitter this morning that my mind should remember the The Fall of the House of Usher but it did. I read it for the 1st time in decades and it certainly was spot on of what I hope will be the fall of the sickness that permeates our society. It could’ve been as easily the fall of Rome, our home is falling. It is the left that is sucking the very decency of all. The first filthy disgusting atrocity of all that should be good is the protection by the Catholic Church of the The Fall of the Gay Mafia’s Don

Around three years ago, I ran into a very peculiar chap coming out of Wuerl’s personal garage at 10:30 at night. He described himself as Wuerl’s “personal chef,” but the archdiocese refused to answer my questions about his employment status. To this day, I still don’t know this individual’s identity. I was told that after I reported his odd habit of parking not in the employee lot but in the cardinal’s personal garage (attached to Wuerl’s Embassy Row penthouse apartment) the “personal chef” vanished, as did Wuerl’s priest-secretary (who was living in Wuerl’s penthouse), Fr. Charles Cortinovis. (I wrote this story up for the Daily Caller, “Who is the Personal Chef of Donald Wuerl?“)

How the Next Civil War May Take Shape; A Reprise of the 60s?

In the 1960s, 1) with an anti-war movement scripted, and even controlled more than we knew, straight from Moscow, 2) a civil rights movement that would be ensnared and redirected as soon as Dr Martin Luther King and his closest followers could be despatched (1968), and 3) the rise of a cradle-to-grave incubation system where bright, affluent middle-class kids with only one defining characteristic, that they were coddled and spoiled, irrespective of race, could be indoctrinated in the genteel art of social “alienism” (as writers at National Review called it then—not to be confused with the new mini-series based on the 1994 novel by Caleb Carr, a very good book in its own right, in which psychologists were considered “alienists”), the structural design of the dismantling of the Republic was being fashioned.

In the 60s that indoctrination began in college, today, kids are tapped out as early at 4th Grade. My first memory of “alienists” in the NR sense was in mentioning the “anti-” nature of people such as Hillary Rodham while with the Watergate impeachment hearings committee and Nadar’s Raiders and their signature proclivity for storming government hearings and generally turning over tables in the Peoples’ office buildings. Too green to dislike bureaucracies at the time, that was an activity I had some empathy for, but it was National Review who drew the distinction for me between “anti-bureaucracy” and “anti-social”, which has served me ever since. .

Although he was not popularly known then, the fingerprints of Saul Alinksy were all over the activities of these early radical prototypes, and they were soon to be morphed into armies of lawyers with briefcases, headed by the environmental movement, of which I was a member, “Sue the bastards” our rallying cry.

That period of the 1960s saw the rise of black separatist movements, e.g. Black Panthers, all claiming a kinship with Dr King I doubt he ever intended, and of course race riots broke out in several cities. They were not spontaneous as the public was led to believe. Likewise the evolution of the Black Muslim movement and Nation of Islam occurred in this period, popularized by Muhammad Ali, the great boxer, who always invoked Elijah Muhammad when he proclaim his faith, only to leave the Farrakhan wing in favor of a more peaceful form of Islam as originally set out by Malcomb X, before he was assassinated[…]

Modern Leftism, Progressivism, Soviet Communism

Unified Patriots by Vassarbushmills

The Private Life is Dead

Remember the Bolshevik Strelnikov in the film classic, “Dr Zhivago” (1965)?  Played by Tom Courtenay, he was a young intellectual communist who had turned into a Red military commander in the civil war that followed the October Revolution. In reality, that comment “the private life is dead” had been the  standard signature of the new Soviet experiment throughout America the 1930s, especially in Hollywood. Even in the 1939 light-hearted comedy-romance, “Ninotchka” with Greta Garbo, the story line was about a dour apparatchik from the Ministry of Finance who went to Paris to find three party members who had gone there to recover stolen jewels belonging to the new regime, then decided to stay when they discovered the private sector, opening a restaurant. First Ninotchka discovered the feel of fine fabric, then learned to smile and then to laugh, and finally to love, things all Party members had purged from their consciences since 1918, in the 20 years of the USSR’s existence.

There was even an early Hollywood B&W cartoon (which I’ve never been able to find) of a valley of people who lived and frolicked in sunshine while a valley away there lived frowning people living unhappy lives in near darkness. The story was of their trying to drive out the sunshine in the sunny valley.

In the middle of a world wide depression, these stories were indicative of a struggle in Hollywood, where a battle royale was going on about this New World drawn up by Lenin and Stalin. Predictably many of its writer-intellectuals took to it with vigor, since, like Marx, they were the smartest people in Tinsel Town but also paid the least. A few actors signed up as well.

If there was a communist signature for that era, it was that humorless deep furrowed brow of the weight of the world sitting squarely on their shoulders. This dispassion, this cold, even brutal analytical thinking defined the early Soviet state. Lenin and Stalin, more than Marx, knew that this brooding look had sales appeal in the West, and marketed its New Man and New World vision as one without sentimentality or any backward glances. It expressed an exclusivist state of mind implying that reason is harder then sentiment, thus more noble

What Lenin hadn’t banked on that in America this sales pitch appealed to a vanity that allowed converts to set themselves apart from the masses simply by converting. Hold that thought, for it was a great mistake. Lenin really couldn’t have believe that some people could only pretend to be committed, and then, within a century, that’s all there would be. See Bernie Sanders[…]

Memorial Day: Heroes And Hypocrites

Wow! Magazine by Joshua Pundit

Today is Memorial Day, a day when we honor men and women fallen in the service of their country.

Back when America was more of a piece, such a day was universal it what it meant. Oddly enough, the holiday itself started from division after the Civil War, a conflict over 600,000 Americans never returned from.

Southern women, putting flowers on the graves of their fallen also decided to decorate the graves of the fallen Union soldiers as well, and the custom spread across the Mason-Dixon line. From such a great, painful division came unity.

In America today, we are now in the midst of another great division. And increasingly, we lack the common bonds of our ancestors.

Let’s examine something.

At the present time, we have a volunteer military. What that means is that some young men in our society made a choice to restrict their own freedom and risk their lives to defend the rest of us.Increasingly, there is a socioeconomic and geographical divide between those whom chose to serve and those who don’t. In the past, most Americans knew someone who was serving or had served in our military…vets like Dad, your uncle or grandpa, somebody’s niece or nephew, the neighbors kid or perhaps your own. That’s no longer true[…]

Former Facebook Curator: We Pick What’s Trending; ‘Regularly Avoid’ Promoting Breitbart, The Blaze

A former curator of Facebook’s trending news section has revealed that the company purposely suppresses content from blacklisted outlets including Breitbart News, despite Breitbart remaining in the top 25 most engaged publications on the social network for 6 months in a row.

The trending news section is located on the right-hand side of Facebook’s homepage, and it links to the world’s most popular and curated news headlines, frequently updating to provide a top news bulletin for Facebook’s over 1 billion users. In an interview with Gizmodo, numerous former curators who wished to remain anonymous discussed the working environment at Facebook’s news department and revealed that certain news outlets were favored among others.

“It was clear that Zuckerberg could squash the project at any moment,” said one former curator. “We weren’t treated as individuals. We were treated in this robot way,” said another.

Curators were “told to select articles from a list of preferred media outlets that included sites like the New York Times, Time, Variety, and other traditional outlets. They would regularly avoid sites like World Star Hip Hop, The Blaze, and Breitbart, but were never explicitly told[…]

Facebook is politically biased and since they avoid World Star Hip Hop, I am sure that there are those who levy allegations of racism against the Progressive entity.

On a personal note, I do not engage with Facebook’s “trending news ” box located near the upper right hand corner of the Facebook page and for good reason, the news is crap.

For example, below is a copy of last night’s (Tuesday, May 3) FB’s “trending news” box that is full of gossip and pure trash minus the Indiana primary.  Everything else is Facebook’s contribution to the dumbing down of America.

Facebook trending may 3 evening 2016

“The Biggest Loser?”  “James Bond?”  I mean let us be serious, Facebook.  A mind is a terrible thing to waste and that is the reason that I downloaded F.B. Purity, which Facebook loathes, to my browser.

At least with F.B. Purity, one can customize one’s FB page and timeline which clashes with FB’s algorithms and set up.

That being said, FB sucks and Zuckerberg is a creep.

Instead of declaring war on ISIS, President Obama is taking actions to reduce our rights to own and use guns. Meanwhile, Americans anxiously await the next terror attack on our soil. Is it any surprise why Americans are afraid?
