In collusion with the government, AARP has endorsed Obamacare aka Pelosicare.  AARP’s stance is a direct conflict of interest in that they will profit from Obamacare.  See for yourself.

That being said, the time has come to turn the flames up under the asses of AARP’s board.  We must make them feel the pain.

MAKE AARP ACCOUNTABLE; CANCEL MEMBERSHIPS, SEND FAXES; MAKE TELEPHONE CALLS, WRITE LETTERS AND SEND EMAILS
May I suggest that members of AARP hit AARP where it hurts, in their pockets.  The way to do that is by canceling memnberships.  But don’t let it end there, make your displeasure with AARP and Obamacare know.  Express your dissatisfaction by bombarding AARP with letters, telephone calls, emails and faxes and don’t let up.

Pink slip AARP too.  Of course, there is a conflict of interest.  See, AARP Getting ‘Kickbacks’ In Dem Health Care Bills; TRAITOR AARP PLAYING TWO-FACED GAMES WITH MEMBERSHIP; AARP, PELOSI, SEIU AND DEMOCRATS’ IN COLLUSION TO GAME THE PUBLIC; and HIT AARP WHERE IT HURTS.

We need to re-apply the heat to AARP.  True that the deal was sealed, but AARP needs to be made to feel the pain.  The only thing that AARP has done was seal up their own self-interests and gains.

CNS NEWS.COM

“Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Wash.) told CNSNews.com that it is possible AARP could benefit financially from the passage of the bill, which includes $500 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicare Advantage. According to Reichert, if the cuts to the programs result in reduced benefits, more seniors will have to purchase ‘Medigap’ coverage, highly regulated private insurance that fills in holes in Medicare coverage.
UnitedHealth Group offers Medigap coverage branded with the AARP logo, on which AARP collects royalties.
‘I just think there’s a conflict of interest here,’ Reichert said. ‘You can’t support a-half-a-trillion dollar cut (without) recognizing that, as a result of that cut, it will result in additional revenues for AARP…’
In making its endorsement Thursday morning, AARP said the House version of health-care reform (H.R. 3962) would help make coverage more affordable.
‘We started this debate more than two years ago with the twin goals of making coverage affordable to our younger members and protecting Medicare for seniors,’ Jim Wordelman, Idaho state director for AARP, said in making the announcement.
‘We’ve read the Affordable Health Care for America Act and we can say with confidence that it meets those goals with improved benefits for people in Medicare and needed health insurance market reforms to help ensure every American can purchase affordable health coverage.’
However, a representative from the group’s national office told CNSNews.com that ‘nobody can really know’ whether the nation’s largest seniors’ lobbying group would benefit from health-care reform until the law is enacted.
‘We don’t know which of our members are in these (licensed) plans,’ AARP Legislative Policy Director David Certner said in interview.…
Questions to AARP
The Washington congressman originally raised the claim of a possible conflict of interest in a Sept. 21 letter to AARP.
‘Historically, AARP’s mission has been to enhance the quality of life for older Americans by delivering value to members through advocacy and service,’ he wrote.
‘However, I believe it does a disservice to the millions of seniors you represent to support massive cuts to their Medicare Advantage health plans without disclosing the potential monetary benefit to AARP of seniors’ lost coverage resulting in the purchase of AARP-sponsored Medigap plans,’ the letter read.
Based on that premise, Reichert asked the seniors group a series of questions, including how many Medigap plans sold nationally are marketed under the AARP label, how much is financially linked to AARP, and how much money in royalties AARP has made in the past decade licensing Medigap, Medicare Advantage, and various other types of insurance.
In an Oct. 1 response, AARP Chief Operating Officer Thomas C. Nelson admitted that more than one in every four people in the U.S. with supplemental Medicare coverage had ‘AARP-branded’ Medigap plans last year.
‘United has informed us that, as of the end of 2008, 9,618,221 people are enrolled in all Medicare Supplemental plans nationally . . . Of that total, 2,789,889 are in AARP-branded plans.’
Nelson also said AARP made about $339.7 million annually between 1999 and 2008 on royalties from their licensed plans and products.
However, the company said it could not tell Reichert how many of its members were in Medicare Advantage plans because the ‘information on the AARP-branded plan is confidential and proprietary to the United HealthCare Insurance Company and AARP does not have permission to disclose it.’
CNSNews.com asked AARP how it could support cuts to Medicare and Medicare Advantage without understanding whether it would profit.
‘One, our advocacy drives our product, not the other way around,’ Certner said. ‘We don’t, quite frankly, even know what the implication would be for insurance for products for AARP, and (2) AARP is involved in a number of different insurance products, as you may know. We brand (Medigap) plans but we also brand (Medicare Advantage) plans.’
‘So we don’t know what the overall impact would be, but, quite frankly, from our advocate perspective, it’s not relevant. We don’t look at that. We advocate for our membership.”

WELL FREAKING DONE TEXAS!

Just for the record the Chronicle says that 10,000 attended.  I have heard that they under stated the crowd tenfold.  Therefore, I repeat, WELL FREAKING DONE TEXAS!!!!

One of our biggest problems is career professional politicians and the voters who have no problem keeping them in office.  The time is now to clean house and pink slip those politicians who have forgotten what they were voted into office to do and have instead made it about themselves and a means to their own financial gains and prosperity.

The unscrupulous D.C. connection, indoctrination of our youth and the cult of Obama. No matter how you slice it, all three are a true American’s worst nightmare.

Our country deserves better.  The time has come to take a stand against all three, higher taxes, big government, governmental control, etc.  These days, the list is endless and the task daunting, but that will do nothing to stop us.

Hillary was honest.  Democrats tax every damn thing and it is time to stop.

We must do better whether they like it or not.

“More than 10,000 people turned out Monday night for a North Houston Tea Party Patriots gathering to protest proposed health care reform and what they called big government spending and overzealous government leadership, according to preliminary attendance figures.

Under clear skies and a perfect moon, crowds packed the field at the Sam Houston Race Park and cheered loudly as speakers called for the people to take control of the American government. Wearing slogans that said ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ and T-shirts stating, ‘I am a Tea Party Patriot — I will defend our Constitution,’ those attending the event enthusiastically showed support for more constraints on the government and more personal freedom.

‘This isn’t about ‘I can’t stand Barack Obama’ — this is about ‘I can’t stand a government that will tread on me,’ ’ said Houston radio talk show host and TV anchor Joe ‘Pags’ Pagliarulo to a rousing burst of applause from the audience.

‘Taxes are going up because we have to pay for health care for people who are here illegally,’ Pagliarulo said. ‘We have to pay for health care for people who don’t want health care … We’ve got a government that’s run amok — we’ve got a government that doesn’t care about you or me. It cares about power, it cares about control.’

Attendees stressed that Monday’s event — and their support of it — was not partisan in nature. Several of those in the audience said they feel all political parties have stopped listening to the people and that voters feel like they no longer have a voice in Washington.

‘We vote primarily Republican, but they don’t seem to be that much different anymore than Democrats,’ said Everett Cochran of Montgomery, who attended the rally with his wife, Donna. ‘Nobody in the party apparently is listening to what the moderates to conservatives are saying — all they’re listening to is the moderates to the liberals.’

Laureen Jones and Joan Orozco of The Woodlands said they attended to protest government spending as well as government-run health care.

‘Basically, I think the country is going in the wrong direction quickly,’ Orozco said. ‘I think the Constitution is being violated. People are tired of being told what the government is going to do to them.’

An exact attendance count was not available Monday night, but Sam Houston Race Park officials said preliminary numbers based on turnstiles indicated the crowd exceeded 10,000 people.”

Totally hillarious!!!!!!

Translation, this is a scam and a money making deal for Obama, his administration, Democrats, lobbyists and their clients.  The cow to be milked is the American people.  Anyway you look at it, the people are the losers here.

FOX NEWS

“The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated in its study last week that the House health care bill would bring in $167 billion over 10 years in penalties from those who don’t get coverage.

The health care reform bill awaiting debate in the House assumes millions of workers and employers would rather pay $167 billion in fines than purchase or provide adequate coverage, according to a recent analysis, raising questions about whether the plan does enough to make insurance affordable.

Though the bill is estimated to expand coverage from the current 83 percent to 96 percent of legal U.S. residents, the windfall of projected penalty payments also exposes a potential contradiction in reform. A significant part of the plan to expand coverage relies financially on fines from the uninsured.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated in its study last week that the House bill would bring in $167 billion over 10 years — $33 billion from fines paid by individuals who decline to buy insurance, and the rest from employers who don’t offer insurance to workers or contribute enough toward premiums.

Ernest Istook, a former Republican congressman from Oklahoma who is now a fellow at the conservative Heritage Foundation, calculated that anywhere between 8 million and 14 million people would end up paying the fines

This raises a few problems, he said. First, if those millions somehow get covered and don’t pay the fine, then the health program is faced with a budget hole.

Second, he said, it speaks to a flaw with the insurance packages that are being offered. ‘If you say people would rather pay $167 billion in penalties rather than buy insurance under your new plan, what’s wrong with your new plan?’ he asked.

The answer, Istook said: ‘It’s expensive.’

The House plan would create a government-run insurance program intended to help extend coverage. But the plan would allow the government to negotiate rates with providers rather than set artificially low Medicare-style rates — as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other liberal Democrats were hoping to do.

While the negotiated rate structure somewhat assuages the concerns of moderate Democrats and others who projected that a system based on Medicare rates would create an irresistibly cheap public plan that would draw millions away from private coverage and hurt doctors, it also does much less to address cost concerns.

In fact, the CBO report said such a public plan ‘would typically have premiums that are somewhat higher than the average premiums’ for private plans in the newly created insurance marketplace. This is partly because the public plan would likely attract less healthy, and more expensive, enrollees.

In addition, many analysts and lawmakers have warned that private premiums will go up as well as a result of new requirements.”

Whenever Democrats have an agenda they promise the creation of jobs which never come to fruition and while Gore wants us to give up our steak, he’s not about to give up his.  Typical liberal b.s. rhetoric.  Nor is he about to give up that town car and jet he travels around in that leaves huge carbon footprints.  Talk about hypocrisy!

In any event, Gore will continue to feed the world the bull because it is after all about money.

Al Gore could become world’s first carbon billionaire

“Last year Mr Gore’s venture capital firm loaned a small California firm $75m to develop energy-saving technology.

The company, Silver Spring Networks, produces hardware and software to make the electricity grid more efficient.

The deal appeared to pay off in a big way last week, when the Energy Department announced $3.4 billion in smart grid grants, the New York Times reports. Of the total, more than $560 million went to utilities with which Silver Spring has contracts.

The move means that venture capital company Kleiner Perkins and its partners, including Mr Gore, could recoup their investment many times over in coming years.

Few people have been as vocal about the urgency of global warming and the need to reinvent the way the world produces and consumes energy as Mr Gore. And few have put as much money behind their advocacy and are as well positioned to profit from this green transformation, if and when it comes.

Critics, mostly on the political right and among global warming sceptics, say Mr. Gore is poised to become the world’s first ‘carbon billionaire,’ profiteering from government policies he supports that would direct billions of dollars to the business ventures he has invested in.

Representative Marsha Blackburn, Republican of Tennessee, has claimed that Mr Gore stood to benefit personally from the energy and climate policies he was urging Congress to adopt.”
