~ “I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts.” Ronald Reagan.
Ezra Levant reports for TheRebel.media on Obamacare, years later.
In 2009, Obama and the Democrats said they needed to nationalize U.S. health care because 30 million Americans were uninsured. He brought 1/7th of the economy under government control, insurance premiums went way up, and patient choice was reduced.
Now its 2015, and a new study shows there are now MORE uninsured Americans than there were before!
I just emailed this post to my niece in Virginia who attempted to debate me on the merits of Obamacare just a few days ago.
HHS has placed posters throughout her neighborhood with an image of a young black woman making claims that Obamacare saved her life.
My niece was shocked when I informed her that the poster was government propaganda and even more so once I informed her that the virtues of Obamacare was based on deception.
As much as I love this young woman, I found her lack of comprehension when it comes to the deceptive tactics and rationale behind the Obama administration (HHS) dispatching such propaganda exasperating to say the least.
Informing her that she was being deceived may have been a little too much to handle but all I can do is try.
When I was in Panama City, my doctor suspected that I had developed sleep apnea. The NHS says:
Sleep apnea (AP-ne-ah) is a common disorder in which you have one or more pauses in breathing or shallow breaths while you sleep.
Breathing pauses can last from a few seconds to minutes. They often occur 5 to30 timesor more an hour. Typically, normal breathing then starts again, sometimes with a loud snort or choking sound.
Sleep apnea usually is a chronic (ongoing) condition that disrupts your sleep. You often move out of deep sleep and into light sleep when your breathing pauses or becomes shallow.
How long did it take to get sleep monitoring in Panama City in the terrible, horrible, unworkable and broken American healthcare system?
Two days to get an appointment, 5 days to collect the equipment and get monitored. One week from initial diagnosis. Total.
The Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) was created in President Obama’s Health Care law to help cut $500 billion out ofMedicareover 10 years. The only tool it can use for this purpose is formulaic cuts to reimbursements for doctors and hospitals. The panel is barred from implementing or even proposing real reforms that would change howMedicareworks.Medicarereimbursement rates are already low. Cutting them further will of necessity force many providers to stop accepting Medicare patients. For rural and disabled Medicarerecipients, this could greatly impede access to care. If IPAB’s cuts are allowed to take effect, it will inevitably lead to rationing and care denials.
IPAB forcesHealth Careproviders to choose between cutting off access to their patients and eventually going bankrupt. Right after ObamaCare passed,Medicare’s top numbers-cruncher, the Chief Actuary, estimated that IPAB’s 10-years cuts will cause 15 percent of America’s hospitals to go out of business. By the way, none of the IPAB members is allowed to be a practicing physician….”
“Whenever someone uses the term “slavery,” you can almost hear Lefties’ heads exploding–they get so apopaleptic. Immediately, they go into a frenzy, break open their Alinsky manuals, and attempt to ridicule the person making the point.
An example of this occurred just yesterday, when Sen. Rand Paul [R-KY] stated that those who believe that health care is a “right” believe in slavery. Yep. He used the dreaded ‘S’ word and, predictably, the whacky Left went bonkers.
You can bet that this dose of reality does not sit well with Progressives who are now referring to Rand Paul as the “dumbest senator.” It is just like the left to revert to name-calling and ridicule because they are unable to handle the truth and/or lacking a sensible line of reasoning.
Tomorrow, March 14th, the House of Representatives is going to take up the continuing resolution that will keep the government running for three weeks. Michele Bachmann and Steve King have been leading the fight to strip $105 billion from the bill. This is the stealth funding of Obamacare that was inserted into a previous budget.
John Boehner and the House leadership have not stripped this out of the bill.
If this spending is allowed to stand it will mean that Obamacare will become a reality. If the spending is stripped out, it will be a major step towards killing Obamacare permanently.
We have to act and we have to do it today and tomorrow.
First, we need to contact our Republican congressmen and tell them to vote no on the continuing resolution unless a provision is placed in that bill that strips the $105 BILLION that was inserted to fund Obamacare.
Since today is Sunday, their offices will be closed. You can still email and fax your congressman and tell them to vote no on the continuing resolution. Call them first thing in the morning. Remember, your congressman has at least two offices. They have their office in DC and they have their local office. Many times you can get through to the local office when you can’t get through to the DC office and if the local office starts getting a lot of calls, they will let the DC office know about it.
Then we need to contact the Republican leadership in the House to tell them to insert legislation into the continuing resolution that strips the $105 billion to fund Obamacare. We can email them and fax them today and call their offices tomorrow.
If you use twitter, you can send a tweet to @ericcantor
We must remind the GOP why we put them in power. We sent them there to cut spending and one of the biggest spending targets is Obamacare. If Speaker Boehner will not work to eliminate the Obamacare spending, then we must work to get a new Speaker in 2012 and a new Representative from Ohio’s eighth district.
Hopefully the GOP leadership in the House will do the right thing, follow the lead of Michele Bachmann and Steve King and eliminate the $105 billion in funding for Obamacare. Then we can send them emails thanking them and showing our appreciation, as opposed to starting to look for primary opponents.
“By a vote of 241 to 187 the House of Representatives approved an amendment by Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) to block the funding of Obamacare.
The vote, which included a number of Democrats, can deprive the administration of appropriations to carry out implementation of the law. Estimates are that the mere administrative start up of Obamacare will cost $105 billion.
King’s amendment was attached to the main spending bill to allow the government to operate for the balance of the fiscal year. The current funding bill expires on March 4. Once the full funding bill with all amendments are passed, it goes to the Senate. The Senate either has to pass the bill by March 4 or the government could be without funding and be forced to shut down.
While Republicans already passed a bill to repeal Obamacare, that bill is likely to stall in the Senate. However, the government depends on funding bills to function. It cannot die and will have to be enacted by the Senate in some form. In prior years, differences between House and Senate versions could be worked out in a joint conference of both bodies. But with a March 4 deadline looming that option is not likely….”
