Unified Patriots by Bob Montgomery

It was a teensy bit satisfying to see former National Public Radio CEO Ken Stern on Tucker Carlson’s show last week talking about taking a year off and traveling about the interior of America and discovering how a lot of the East Coast elitists’ conceptions of the denizens out there are often misconceptions. I say just a teensy bit satisfying because the worth of it is that it is nice once in a while to hear someone say he was wrong. At least about the darkness of the heart and mind of your everyday American in flyover country. But I doubt that he will, safely back in the confines of the corridor, change a lot of hearts and minds there.

Now, in case you have been otherwise occupied, there have been a lot of strange- sounding attacks on the faithful Constitutional Conservative from some surprising quarters over the past two years, not least the outfit we all (used to) know and love, National Review. It coincided of course with the presidential bid, the successful bid, of one Donald J.Trump. If you have been paying attention to these, occurring as they have amongst the din from the USUAL suspects at NYTWAPOUSATODAYGANNETTABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBC, et al, you know whereof I speak.

Well. Suffice it to say, many of us have been flummoxed by the ad hominems thrown at us by those we thought were our compatriots in the fight against Leftism. At times it seemed that it was not personal, that it was only meant to shame us for falling in with the Trumpmeister and falling for his silly little Make America Great Again mantra[…]

The New Racism and Willful Ignorance

What sticks out about the parade of talking heads and the “take a knee” movement in the NFL is their age.

And their high-jacking the term “racism”.

You see, the central “take a knee” issue in the NFL issue is all about race as seen from its proponents.

Didn’t know that? Well, just like the first Civil War where Midwest farm boys enlisted to fight a war to end slavery while deep south farm boys enlisted to defend their “rats”, neither side of the shooting end of that war was entirely sure what the war was all about beyond their one belief. Although Abraham Lincoln was almost monotonous about “preserving the Union”, that was never a topic of fireside conversation in places where soldiers camped.

Take-a-knee was most definitely about race, specifically cops shooting “innocent” black men, only most NFL players don’t know that. It was about race because Colin Kaepernick said it was about race, in the August, 2016 pre-season, when he took that first knee.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick said, via NFL.com. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

None of what CK said is so, but hey, almost nothing Black Lives Matter tells us is ever so, and obviously, Kaepernick is very impressionable, especially if the BLM position is pleaded to him by a beautiful young woman.

2016 was an election year, and BLM was supposed to have had an impact. It didn’t. But as with 25 years of shakedowns by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, the unwillingness of corporate America to speak out against it in dozens of venues should have given us some clue as to what was bound to happen once a man like Donald Trump came into office.

We should have known how the NFL and owners might react.

A few facts about police shootings and race.

In most blue cities, but especially Chicago, the city governments don’t really care if young black men kill each other. (After all, they’re almost all gang-bangers.) In Chi-town and New York this is holdover thinking from the mob days of the 30s when mostly Italian and Irish gangs did the same thing, only dressed in suits, fedoras and white spats, armed with Thompson machine guns, blazing away while standing on the running boards of a ’31 Buick. How cool is that!…to an 18-year old gang-banger?

The Natural Law Case for Violence Against AntiFa

In some instances the only thing that will work is some form of violence.

Think about it. America was born because a few Americans planted their swords, not their pens, into a set of ideas, and took up the practice of armed violence, a thing about which most of them knew very little.

Now, I don’t have that level of violence in mind. In the first place, I don’t think it’s necessary, and unless Antifa, Black Lives Matter or any other radical group can hit a watermelon from 150 yards, or can carry out small unit tactics in three different types of terrain, I can’t see it happening. Ever.

I’m not talking about that type of violence. but rather, a moral justification for violence as found in Nature.

Sometimes it is elevated to a moral necessity, when there simply is no other way to accomplish a thing. Preserving freedom is most definitely one of them.

So let’s just say that the threat of violence should always be on the table, and we cannot project that threat if we reject violence out of hand simply because some radicals have already used violence as their own calling card to achieve a political purpose.

I certainly reject riots as a legitimate form of violence, along with several other types.

About AntiFa

One of my favorite television news commentators is Tucker Carlson of Fox News, because he showcases the IYI (Intellectual Yet Idiot- Nassim Nicolas Taleb) wing of Leftism. They are at the center of the Antifa (“anti-fascist”) movement in America.

One the one hand, they are easy to mock, but on the other, as the tail of a venomous snake, something to be very concerned about.

When a kid takes a gig with AntiFa, if only for that first weekend in Portland, at $15/hour, it’s not just for the props and make-up he gets to dress up in, which are cool. It’s also because he gets to rub elbows with other self-proclaimed “intellectuals”; i.e., Taleb’s IYI’s. It’s a kind of validation. So next week, when he meets up with students on campus, and he tells them he’s been baptized “an intellectual”, and they say, “are not”, and he replies “are too”, back and forth until he produces that pic on his cell, wearing that fine, new, bandana, they have to step back in admiration[…]

Hollywood has screwed up so much in their war against President Donald Trump that they’re dying for relevancy.

Furthermore, since all efforts to destroy President Trump have failed, Hollywood in collaboration with former Obama officials have created a website full of propaganda, the endgame of which is to destroy POTUS45.

So how disingenuous is Meathead, really? Suggested reading: The white élites who fund Black Lives Matter

children bad for climate change, Josh Fox, Laura Ingraham, Marxism, Tucker Carlson

Earlier this week, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson went at it with a climate change activist and babbling idiot, Josh Fox. Typical Marxist elitist, he man is as obnoxious as he is arrogant. Obviously, the man is compensated very well to espouse climate change dribble. Josh Fox lives to hear himself speak lives to hear himself speak and no one else.

The message: People having children is destroying the environment, i.e., fewer children in the minds of the twisted mean a reduction in the carbon footprint. Progressives are obviously distressed that women and girls having abortions are not slaughtering their babies in the womb fast enough.

Josh fox 👎🏻 how about we stop killing our children and that will save the planet big-time #abortionismurder Bad for the climate #Tucker

— BeckAnn (@beck_ann4) August 9, 2017

Josh Fox…. on Tucker right now saying “have less/no kids” to stop climate change. No wonder they are for abortion! It saves the planet!

— Joni Turner (@joniturnerlaw) August 9, 2017

Transcript [excerpt] —
CARLSON: “So the only country to take this policy and enact it on a large scale is China, which limited reproduction to one child per family for decades. That is also the biggest polluter in the world.”
FOX: “But they didn’t do that because of climate change. Do you understand the science on climate change?”
CARLSON: “That you ought to have fewer kids?”
FOX: “No, no, no. Do you understand the science of climate change? Tucker, science controls — science dictates everything that we do in our society. Science means that climate change is real. Science means that fracking pollutes groundwater. Science means that this television works, that cars work. Science presumably says that underneath your hair there is a brain behind those eyes. Of course, I haven’t seen it. Science would tell us that there aren’t a bunch of hamsters up there or a patch of straw. I mean, you’re not really using your brain right now, but what I am saying to you, Tucker, to make this kind of false arguments about what the scientists are doing — “
CARLSON: “I love being lectured about science by some filmmaker, it’s hilarious. Let me just say this, if you can back up one second —“
FOX: “Tucker, I asked you a question and you haven’t answered it.”
CARLSON: “Which is do I understand science?”
FOX: “Do you understand what the science is telling us about climate change? Because this is what’s very, very important. I find it remarkable.”
CARLSON: “Can you just back up and ask a real question?” [cross-talk]
FOX: “I talked to millennials about this question, I said, ‘Do you have an opinion about whether or not you should have children respective of climate change, and almost every one of them said, ‘Yes, I worry about this enormously. I worry about the future that my children will have.’”
CARLSON: “Can I ask you just one simple question? One second, you’re not winning me over with this. Just hold on.” [cross-talk]
FOX: “Well, I do think it’s important that people care about the future for their children. I really do, Tucker. Don’t you?”
CARLSON: “Everybody cares about the future for their children.”
FOX: “But you deny that our society is based on science. Medicine is based on science. Media is based on science. All of the things that we have to see. What the science is telling us is that climate change is going to create a situation which is very, very dangerous and difficult for civilizations to endure. Climate change will raise sea levels to the point to which it swamps all of our major cities.”
CARLSON: “That’s really scary. Can I just ask you a question, or are you going to continue with this stuff? Let me ask you a really simple question.”
FOX: “You still haven’t answered my question to you which is, ‘Do you understand —‘“
CARLSON: “Do I understand the science behind climate change? I guess not all of it, I’m not a scientist. No, I don’t fully understand it.”
FOX: “Okay, but do you understand — “
CARLSON: “I don’t know that you do either. I don’t think anybody fully does.”
FOX: “Do you understand how dire it is —“
CARLSON: “I’m ending this interview because you’re too obnoxious to talk to unless you just answer one simple question.”
FOX: “Okay, hold on, stop, stop, stop.”
CARLSON: “I just want to ask you a question, okay? You’re just giving me these general bromides about climate change.” [cross-talk]
FOX: “Ask the question. I want to tell you that I find it very moving. Go ahead, say what you’re saying.”
CARLSON: “When you say that climate change is destroying the world and it is the thing that we should worry about most, and then you say simultaneously it’s not really dependent upon our individual choices, aren’t you giving a pass to some of the big individual polluters? If I say I really care about climate change and I fly around —“
FOX: “It is political choices that matter, it’s group actions that matter. Millennials, who are by-and-large the people of childbearing age now — now you’re not letting me talk, so I’m just going to talk. Millennials, who are of childbearing age right now, number one issue is climate change, because they know they’re going to inherit an incredibly unstable world. The United Nations predicts —“
CARLSON: “Yeah, whatever. This is actually too stupid, I’m going to bring this to a close. I’d love to have a conversation with you, but you are moralizing like every Hollywood dopey guy invoking science to get self-righteous.”
FOX: “Tucker, I’m just trying to answer your question. I really want to be civil with you.”
CARLSON: “I’m being civil, I’m just too frustrated because —“
FOX: “No, no, no.”
CARLSON: “I appreciate it, thank you very much for joining.”

The Muslim-American

Arabs, Gypsies, Immigration, Muslim-Americans, Somalis, Tribal people, Tucker Carlson

Unified Patriots by Vassarbushmills

I’ve written about this subject a few times since 9/11, since I’m something of a defender of Muslims in America..

A recent (Aug 1) interview by Tucker Carlson with an American convert to Islam, Bob Marro, is descriptive of the general misunderstanding Americans have about worldwide Islam and Islam in America.

They are different. By definition they are different. But since the Obama administration, probably much earlier, it had been the policy of the US government, both in immigration and foreign relations, to erase that distinction.

This is not really about Islam, or Muslims in America, or sharia, but what many Americans on the Right don’t fully get about what it means to “become American” and how it distinguishes us from all the rest of the world. And all the rest of History.

You see, the Left fully gets it. They know that America, as created, is different. That’s what they want to undo.

Muslims have been coming to America for over a century, but they did not come as part of the waves of teeming masses that came through Ellis Island. They were not part of the “tired, poor, huddled masses ” as Emma Lazarus in the 19th Century reached out to channel poor Jim Acosta about in the 21st. Most were professional people, doctors, engineers, and entrepreneurial businessmen, who did “yearn to breathe free” because of suffocating professional caste systems in Delhi, Karachi, Tehran, even London and Paris, where it wasn’t what you knew, but who you knew in order to succeed. A merit-based free market for professional talent did not exist elsewhere.

In fact, merit had little to do with how anyone got ahead anywhere in the word… except America.

(As we now know, “merit” got caught up in the luggage of a male, white, patriarchal, largely Christian society that had to be displaced, as we’ve been watching transpire for the past half century now. But that’s a story for another time.)

Those educated professionals came to America already possessing middle class attitudes about society in general. They were not poor, tribal and parochial. Once here most prospered by comparison to any endeavor they may have undertaken in their home country. They did not live or work in ethnic conclaves. Yet they were practicing Muslims, usually within easy access to a mosque.

And there were Anglo-American converts. My copy of the Koran was translated by an English convert, Mohammed Marmaduke Picktall in the 19th century, which I bought for a college course in 1965. Picktall entitled it “The Meaning of the Glorious Koran.” signifying his enthusiasm. Picktall was one of those “desert-loving English”, an academician, who, in the heyday of the British Empire could be found in every colonial capital, from India-Pakistan, Malaysia, East Africa (Kenya-Tanganyika) and West Africa (Nigeria).

Many rotated back to London (mostly) where they took up positions in universities and government. The oldest “purpose-built” mosque in London was built in 1926, while interestingly, the oldest American mosque was built in 1922…in North Dakota!

Most American converts are similar to the English. Mr Marro, Tucker’s guest, was a former foreign service officer. John Brennan, former CIA director and Dep Director- NSA, under Obama, is also said to be a convert to Islam. I am sure most every American university today has a few American converts, although, since 9/11 the attraction for the real-deal, middle eastern and probably radicalized Muslims appear to have been a trend since the mid-2000s, to match the otherworld-drift of American universities in general. There are all sorts of Muslim organizations who have a list of applicants for any college or university that wants to fill out a diversity slot. (The California imam Mahmoud Harmoush, who recently called upon Allah to destroy all Jews—in Arabic—is from Syria, for instance.)

Mr Marro claimed some ignorance of there being anything but middle class, professional Muslim immigrants in the United States. This is sort of like the Manhattanite not understanding how Reagan or Trump won inasmuch as they never knew a single person in their circle-of-friends who would vote for them!

That has changed in the past 30 years, for President Trump’s proposed change[…]
