~ “I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts.” Ronald Reagan.
Tavis Smiley once again succeeded in inflaming Black community leaders who are being called on the carpet for giving Obama a pass.
Before we go any further, let me be clear. This post is not about people getting a free ride. I don’t believe in free rides. I believe in people getting off their rears, opening the door and getting it themselves. That being said, let’s move on.
Undoubtedly, this is also where I will offend, however, the truth must be spoken. The president made promises to the community that delivered him the presidency. Brouhaha aside, the president has abandoned and is failing the Black community because at this moment, he has no need for them.
Many in the Black community acknowledge Obamafail, but dismiss it as they give Obama a pass for the same reason they voted for him. Therefore, their logic where Obama is concerned is flawed.
Of course, the president will return when he needs the Black community to elect him to a second presidential term. At that time, he will throw them a bone while delivering unto them some “I bet you thought that I forget about you” rhetoric.
Then with a wink, Obama will look the Black community square in the eye and say “grant me a second term and I’ll do you right.” The Black community pacified and wanting to be wrong will breathe a sigh of relief as they once again follow Obama blindly. History will repeat itself.
In the meantime, they are expected to understand, lay low and behave like well-mannered children; and many to the detriment of the community are doing exactly that.
“I’m not filibustering.”
Smiley’s right, it is Sharpton’s show, so there.
The problem herein is that many of our Black community leaders successfully fulfilling their own agendas with pockets stuffed are willing to be the voice of the Obama propaganda machine…..again, to the detriment of the Black community.
When will we tire of those who sell out to plantation politics instead of attacking those who bring these matters to light?
