I’m not a student of school shootings, except to take note of the shooters, many of whom, from Virginia Tech to Sandy Hook in Connecticut to even Dylan Roof in South Carolina, were mentally ill but able to get a gun anyway, only not so much because of their easy availability as to fatal flaws in the bureaucratic system that were designed to prevent the mentally unstable to get weapons. Bureaucracies do that, which is why there can never be any kind of gun “control”.
A decade has gone by since Virginia Tech and most of the gaps in mental health awareness from that event remain unfilled because the Left’s anti-gun lobby continue to keep their eyes fixed on solving a problem of their ethereal Utopian world of World Order, totally disarming a constitutionally-protected armed populace.
As long as fractures in mental health protections fail, they can continue to keep their eye on the larger prize.
So it will be with the shooting in Broward County, Florida, at Margery Stoneman Douglas High School near Ft Lauderdale. We know where the media and the Left will take this; 1) denying access to guns, and 2) a failure of due diligence by local officials at the school and local police to identify several hundreds of thousands 18-20 year old kids of looking and dressing scary, talking big on social media, making broad statements about shooting and mayhem, but falling short of “legal threats” (as the FBI found with Cruz), and in some way interdict them.
Leftists believe anyone who disagrees with them, much less picks up a gun, is mentally deficient or mentally disturbed. This in turn justifies some sort of physical constraints and invasion of privacy.
I’m not sure how long it will take for public pressure to cause the Parkland school and police to kneel at the foot of political correctness and admit that they should implement new programs to more quickly identify angry young kids, white males at least, so as to give the rest of the community a heads-up every-time that kid walks down the street.

Agreed, TMJ. These so-called mass shootings ceased passing the smell test years ago. Other than the media and comrades who see race in everything that goes on, I do not know of many people who are buying the narratives spun by a lawless administration.

The brother of a survivor of the Oregon shooter knows what he would say to Barack Obama when he comes to Roseburg to meet with families for the usual political reasons.
When he was told that Obama is traveling to Roseburg Friday, Jessy Atkinson, brother of Cheyenne, was taken off guard and stumbled for a minute before he told Anderson Cooper Obama should stop running the gun agenda when that is not the problem.
“I would tell him to look where the problem really lies and quit running the agenda — quit running the gun agenda,” he said. “It’s not the problem. It’s mental health in America. It’s obvious. All of us talk about it. I don’t know why we are hiding from it.”

Barack Hussein Obama will travel to Charleston, South Carolina on Friday to deliver the eulogy for Rev. Clementa Pinckney, pastor of Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Pinckney is one of nine people shot and killed by an anarchist during bible classes at the church last Thursday.
Progressives never one to let a good crisis go to waste, it will be a family affair with Michelle Obama and Joe Biden in attendance as well.
Expect Obama to go into preacher mode, misquote scripture, tear up, race bait, invoke Sasha, Malia and Michelle while blaming Republicans and the Confederate flag – you know, his usual spiel. (When Newtown fails, park the train, wake for another opportunity then try again. In other words, Friday’s funeral will be fundamentally transformed into another one of Obama’s dog and pony show.)
For those wondering why the riots haven’t started, there you have it. DeRay McKesson and fellow paid agent provocateurs will wait until Obama is on Air Force One before commencing part two of the dog and pony show.

UPDATE 2: All about securing his legacy and infringing upon the Second Amendment rights of Americans, Barack Obama took to his bully pulpit to blame last night’s church shooting in Charleston on guns.
President Obama emerged for a brief statement on the Charleston church shooting today, stressing that “this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries” and “we as a country will have to reckon with the fact.”
“It doesn’t happen in other places with this kind of frequency,” he said in the White House briefing room with Vice President Joe Biden at his side….
As usual, Obama talking loud and saying nothing, with Joe Biden by his side looking as if he’s going to burst out laughing any moment, failed to mention that crime is rampant in those countries where firearms have been banned leaving the innocent defenseless and at the mercy, correction lack thereof of thugs.
True to form, when tragedy strikes the heart of Americans, as in the case of the Benghazi Islamic terrorist attacks that resulted in the death of four Americans and the beheading of American journalist, James Holt, Obama rolls out his dog and pony, for good measure, pretends to shed a tear, plays the blame game and then jets off to the business of Obama, i.e., campaigning, fundraising and/or golfing. In this instance, it’s two days of fundraising with fellow elitists in California. All while a nation has yet to come to grip with the latest tragedy.
UPDATE 1: Dylann Roof, the suspected gunman in Wednesday night’s shooting spree of the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston was apprehended this morning in Shelby, North Carolina.
According to CNN, witnesses are alleging that Roof who is Caucasian stood up in the church and stated that he was there to shoot Black people. True or false, the facts as they actually unfolded has yet to be laid out.
Bear in mind the so-called eye witnesses to the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri last summer, alleging that Brown’s hands were up when shot by St. Louis Police Officer, Darren Wilson. Those claims were later proven to be false.
Dylann Roof, 21, of Lexington, South Carolina, was taken into custody without incident about 11:15 a.m. during a traffic stop, Charleston police Chief Greg Mullen said Thursday morning. He said local police were acting on a BOLO (be-on-the-lookout) notice that included a vehicle description, the license tag and the suspect’s name….

In what can only be described as evil, a 21 year old gunman went on a shooting spree during a prayer meeting at a Charleston, SC church killing nine people last night.
South Carolina police are hunting Dylann Roof in the deadly shooting Wednesday night at a Charleston church that left nine people dead, authorities announced as they identified the 21-year-old as the gunman.
Police immediately branded the shooting spree, which began just after 9 p.m. Wednesday, a hate crime, and released surveillance images of a white man fleeing the scene at 180-year-old Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church after the horrific incident, which left six women and three men dead….
Among those killed is the church’s pastor, state Sen. Clementa Pinckney, age 41. The names of the others killed, three males and six females, have not yet been released.
A five year old boy survived by playing dead as instructed by his grandmother.
While the shootings have been labeled a hate crime based on race by the usual suspects including the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division and FBI who have opened an investigation, that has yet to be determined.
The family of Walter Scott who was shot and killed last weekend by North Charleston, South Carolina police officer Michael Slager while thanking Al Sharpton for his condolences has banned the race baiter from the funeral.
A source close to the Scott family told The New York Daily News, “We don’t want another Ferguson type of circus here.”
The statement, clearly a reference to the chaos, violence and destruction that went on for months last year in Ferguson, St. Louis Missouri, after the shooting of 18 year old Michael Brown that had Sharpton’s name all over it, just two days before the funeral.
Ferguson businesses, in fact, the town itself has yet to recover from the damage done by Sharpton and outsiders (including Eric Holder and all at the orders of Barack Obama), who converged upon the town stoking the flames of hate and many of whom personally played a role in the riots, division and destruction of the town.
Sharpton’s response to being barred from the funeral: “They are in mourning and we would never come unless they asked…We’re willing to be helpful to the family but only when needed.”
Yeah, sure. Just two days ago, Sharpton from his bully pulpit in race baiter mode was ready to dive in.
‘There must be national policy and national law on policing,’ Mr. Sharpton said. “We can’t go from state to state, we’ve got to have national law to protect people against these continued questions….
We commend them, but we cannot have a justice system that hopes we have a mayor in the right city or a police chief’”he said. ‘We have to have one policy that is national….’
Translation: Regardless of how state and local law enforcement handles these matters, a Stasi police state is the only thing Sharpton, Holder and Obama will stand for.
A federal police force is after all the real agenda, not the loss of Black lives that for Progressives is nothing more than a tool for the disempowerment of law enforcement at the state level.
Imagine the increase in the number of dead Americans that is bound to occur if a Stasi police state is implemented.
Back in December of 2015, the family of Akai Gurley, a young man shot and killed in when a rookie a police officer fired into a darkened stairwell of a New York City Housing project barred Sharpton from their son’s funeral.
Sharpton and his National Action had sent the family of Akai Gurley an invoice for a eulogy Sharpton intended to deliver at their funeral even though he had never once placed a phone call to the parents of the deceased.
Earlier this year, James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas also released an expose (video) wherein the families and attorneys of Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, and Michael Brown expressed their opinions that Sharpton “a shakedown guy” is “all about the money” “excites people for the wrong reasons.” Personal reasons being self-enrichment.
