Peaceful Assembly Suspended on Fourth Night of Protests In Ferguson, Alderman Arrested, Two Reporters Detained as SWAT  INTENTIONALLY Targets Reporters

As reported by KSDK, the crowd was smaller on the fourth consecutive night of protests than it had been the other three on the streets of Ferguson, St. Louis, Missouri.F

Many of those still protesting are outsiders stirring up trouble.

Early Wednesday, the city of Ferguson requested that vigils and protests be held during daylight hours which Wednesday’s protesters attempted to do.

They were met with a heavily armed and more aggressive police state, (70-100 members of SWAT in riot gear) whose marching orders were to squash any protests held during the day or night.

RT ‘…Your right to assembly is not being denied,’ police were telling the protesters before the sudden showdown….‘This is not open for discussion….’

In other words, “Your right to assembly is not being denied” until it has been and even then, it depends on whom one asks.

As one might guess, it went downhill from there. Some protesters threw bottles, rocks and molotov cocktails. SWAT employed urban warfare tactics threw tear gas canisters, smoke grenades, shot rubber bullets and used sound cannons.

St. Louis Alderman, Antonio French who has been out there every night since the shooting of 18 year old Mike Brown tweeting events as they unfold was arrested last night and charged with unlawful assembly and not listening.

@AntonioFrench being booked now. Not sure what the charge is yet. Was ordered out of his car and arrested because he “didn’t listen”.

— Senka (@senka) August 14, 2014

Rumor has it that French will be held for 24 hours. The detainment of the alderman served only to make a bad situation worse as news of his arrest spread across Twitter like wild fire. Protesters converged upon the police station to demand French’s release followed by an MRAP.

SWAT Intentionally Targeted Media:

St. Louis police did not appreciate the media’s presence at ground zero and, therefore, intentionally targeted journalists for their own good (yeah, right). Reporters Wesley Lowery of the Washington Post Ryan Reilly from the Huffington Post were detained and then released for filming officers in McDonald’s, a staging area for journalists covering the protests. At the time of their arrests, the reporters were preparing to file their stories and charging their phones.

With the urgent need to control the message, SWAT ordered McDonalds to close immediately after the arrest of two reporters using its Wi-Fi to file their reports.

Infowars reporter Joe Biggs was shot in the kidneys Wednesday night by St. Louis Co. Police using flash bangs and rubber bullets during protests ….The militarized police, equipped with combat armor and Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles, unloaded on the media and demonstrators near the burnt down QuikTrip gas station on West Florissant Ave. around 9pm Central after someone threw a Motolov cocktail on top of a nearby car wash, lighting it completely on fire….

warrior cop

WSJ

…Since the 1960s, in response to a range of perceived threats, law-enforcement agencies across the U.S., at every level of government, have been blurring the line between police officer and soldier. Driven by martial rhetoric and the availability of military-style equipment—from bayonets and M-16 rifles to armored personnel carriers—American police forces have often adopted a mind-set previously reserved for the battlefield. The war on drugs and, more recently, post-9/11 antiterrorism efforts have created a new figure on the U.S. scene: the warrior cop—armed to the teeth, ready to deal harshly with targeted wrongdoers, and a growing threat to familiar American liberties….

How insane and overpowering is it that in the past forty years, there has been a dramatic increase number of SWAT-like raids.

Along with the increase, comes bloodshed that far too often accompanies these raids not to mention the constitutionality of a militarized police state.

In 1970s, there were a few hundred SWAT-like raids a year.

During the early part of the 1980’s the number of SWAT-like raids increased to approximately 3,000 raids a year.

By the year, 2005, there were more than 50,000 raids and to make matters worse most federal agencies now have their own SWAT teams.

Oath Keepers to Rally in Tucson on Memorial Day Over Death of Young Marine VeteranOath Keepers Rally to Honor Jose Guerena and Oppose SWAT Searches

Stewart Rhodes – Oath Keepers

“Tucson, ArizonaMay 30, 2011March and rally from 9am to 3pm, followed by formal indoor meeting with speeches and additional memorial ceremonies into evening.

CALLING ALL OATH KEEPERS, ALL VETERANS, ALL PATRIOTIC POLICE OFFICERS, ALL GUN OWNERS, AND ALL LIBERTY LOVING AMERICANS.

This is an urgent call-out to all Oath Keepers, all veterans, all patriotic police officers, all Americans who cherish our liberty and our Constitution, and to all liberty leaders and patriotic organizations to join us in Tucson, Arizona this Memorial Day, May 30, 2011 to take a stand in defense of our Constitution, which our war dead fought to defend, and to take a stand against the egregious policy of using SWAT teams to serve search warrants on veterans and gun owners with no violent criminal history.

As you may know, on May 5, 2011, a young 26 year old Marine veteran who had survived two tours in Iraq, and father of two, Jose Guereña, was killed in a SWAT raid in Tucson, Arizona (see below news articles for details). At approximately 9:30 am, two hours after he hit the rack after working a twelve hour graveyard shift at an Arizona mine, his wife woke him by yelling that there were men with guns outside (she had seen a man outside the window pointing a gun at her). He told her to take their four year old son and hide in a closet, grabbed his AR-15, and stepped out into the hallway of his home just as his front door was battered in.

He died with his safety still on. He didn’t fire a shot. The Pima County, Arizona (Sheriff Dupnik’s department), SWAT Team fired 71 rounds at him, hitting him with approximately 60 rounds. He had no criminal record. The only justification given by the Sheriff’s spokesman for using SWAT to serve the warrant was that it was a search warrant in a narcotics conspiracy investigation (with three other homes searched in the same neighborhood), and that this is their policy when the home-owner may be armed.

This policy of using SWAT to serve mere search warrants on people with no violent criminal history will lead to more deaths of veterans and other trained American gun owners because a trained man will react precisely the same way this young Marine did.

We must take a stand on this use of SWAT against gun owners and veterans who have no violent crime history, and that stand needs to be a firm one.….continue”

Oath Keepers Rally to Honor Jose Guerena and Op…, posted with vodpod

Sixty bullets? Jose Guerena, a true American hero did not deserve to go out like this. Moreover, that which happened to Guerena should not happen to any American. This is the fault of a government trampling upon our rights and diminishing our liberties.  The United States has been transformed into a police state. Change the policy. Support the Oath Keepers. God bless the family of Jose Guerena. Right the wrongs, America. Right the wrongs.
