72,000 stimulus payments went to dead people

According to a report by the Social Security Administration, $18 million in stimulus checks at $250.00 a pop went to dead people and another $4.3 million went to 17,000 prison inmates. Only about half of the checks issued were returned.

A true socialist speaks.  This arrogant socialist bastard thinks that he is our pimp.  Our money is his money.  Lowering taxes and allowing Americans to keep more of their money would do more for the economy than any of Obama’s failings.  It isn’t concern about the economy and jobs that is fueling Obama’s agenda, it’s control, greed power, and tyranny.

“(Reuters) – President Barack Obama, fighting to keep Democrats in charge of Congress, said on Wednesday the United States could not afford to extend Bush-era tax cuts for the rich and accused Republicans of being fiscally irresponsible.

On a campaign trip to Ohio less than two months before November 2 congressional elections, Obama admitted his economic policies had not worked as quickly as hoped, but said his party and proposals were still better placed to boost the U.S. economy.

Obama’s comments, laced with political rhetoric, came amid a growing verbal battle with Republicans over tax cuts for wealthy Americans enacted under former President George W. Bush and set to expire at the end of this year.

John Boehner, the Republican leader in the House of Representatives, called for a two-year freeze on current U.S. tax rates and proposed the government cut spending for next year to 2008 levels, before the controversial federal bailouts and Obama’s $814 billion stimulus plan.

Obama rejected that call but said his administration was ready to extend tax cuts for families making less than $250,000 a year.

‘For any income over this amount, the tax rates would go back to what they were under President Clinton. This isn’t to punish folks who are better off — God bless them — it is because we can’t afford the $700 billion price tag,’ he said.

Republicans blame Obama for inflating the deficit, forecast at a record $1.47 trillion in 2010, or 10 percent of GDP, with bloated stimulus spending they say failed to deliver jobs….”

Taxes under Bill Clinton were horrendous.  I remember when his tax increases went into effect.  It literally cut my paychecks in half.

And why has the left wing media not picked up on this? No doubt, instead of reporting the facts, they are once again giving the anointed one another pass.

“Expect to hear a lot about how much the Iraq war cost in the days ahead from Democrats worried about voter wrath against their unprecedented spending excesses.

The meme is simple: The economy is in a shambles because of Bush’s economic policies and his war in Iraq. As American Thinker’s Randall Hoven points out, that’s the message being peddled by lefties as diverse as former Clinton political strategist James Carville, economist Joseph Stiglitz, and The Nation’s Washington editor, Christopher Hayes.

The key point in the mantra is an alleged $3 trillion cost for the war. Well, it was expensive to be sure, in both blood and treasure, but, as Hoven notes, the CBO puts the total cost at $709 billion. To put that figure in the proper context of overall spending since the war began in 2003, Hoven provides this handy CBO chart showing the portion of the annual deficit attributable to the conflict:

But there is much more to be said of this data and Hoven does an admirable job of summarizing the highlights of such an analysis:

* Obama’s stimulus, passed in his first month in office, will cost more than the entire Iraq War — more than $100 billion (15%) more.

* Just the first two years of Obama’s stimulus cost more than the entire cost of the Iraq War under President Bush, or six years of that war.

* Iraq War spending accounted for just 3.2% of all federal spending while it lasted.

* Iraq War spending was not even one quarter of what we spent on Medicare in the same time frame.

* Iraq War spending was not even 15% of the total deficit spending in that time frame. The cumulative deficit, 2003-2010, would have been four-point-something trillion dollars with or without the Iraq War.

* The Iraq War accounts for less than 8% of the federal debt held by the public at the end of 2010 ($9.031 trillion).

* During Bush’s Iraq years, 2003-2008, the federal government spent more on education that it did on the Iraq War. (State and local governments spent about ten times more.)
