STRIKING SEIU UNION WORKERS SABOTAGE NURSING HOMES ENDANGERING LIVES OF PATIENTS

FOX NEWS

The owner of several Connecticut nursing homes is calling for a criminal probe after union workers staged a mass walkout earlier this month, allegedly vandalizing and sabotaging the health care facilities in the process. Among the allegations is that the workers, supposedly disgruntled over protracted labor talks, switched around the IDs of Alzheimer’s patients.

The alleged sabotage, which also purportedly included tampering with medication records and removing patient identification bands, occurred in three of the company’s five Connecticut facilities in the overnight hours before the July 3 strike, according to police reports and the complaint HealthBridge Management filed Thursday with the Chief State’s Attorney office…

… ‘It’s especially heinous to do it to somebody with Alzheimer’s,” said a HealthBridge spokesman, adding that dietary information also was compromised…’

As reported by the Daily Caller:

At the Newington Health Care Center, in Newington, Conn., police reported that ‘several items were discovered missing,’ including six handles used to operate patient lifts for individuals with mobility problems. Several stethoscopes and blood pressure cuffs were also reported missing….

… ‘Also, dietary blue stickers affixed to the door name tags were removed,’ the report continued. A source with knowledge of HealthBridge’s operations told The DC that those stickers identify residents that have dysphagia, or trouble swallowing. Those patients have special dietary restrictions to prevent them from choking….’

Democrats Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Gov. Dannel Malloy and Attorney General George Jepsen who has since recused himself from the case fully stand behind SEIU who is accusing the nursing homes of “inhumane and unlawful actions” not towards the patients but towards the SEIU workers for refusing to meet their demands.

In reality, the SEIU union workers fit the bill of “inhumane and unlawful actions” based on their callous and potentially deadly actions of sabotage, which placed the lives of patients at risk.

Every one of these union thugs deserves to be terminated for these despicable actions.  Doing so would immediately improve the safety factor for the patients at these nursing homes. H/t BREITBART.

BREAKING NEWS: SCOTUS RULES 7 TO 2 AGAINST UNION in KNOX v. SEIU

Here is the link to the ruling:  http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/11pdf/11-94a1b2.pdf

SCOTUS BLOG

The Court rules that the case is not moot, first. It then rules on the merits: the union’s treatment of nonmembers who had opted out when they got notice of the dues ran afoul of the First Amendment.

Justice Alito delivered the opinion of the Court, in which Justices Roberts, Scalia, Kennedy and Thomas joined. Sotomayor filed an opinion concurring in the judgment, in which Ginsburg joined. Breyer filed a dissenting opinion, joined by Kagan.

Excerpt Alito’s Opinion: (pgs. 18, 25-27)

…By authorizing a union to collect fees from nonmembers and permitting the use of an opt-out system for the collection of fees levied to cover nonchargeable expenses, our prior decisions approach, if they do not cross, the limit of what the First Amendment can tolerate. The SEIU, however, asks us to go farther. It asks us to approve a procedure under which (a) a special assessment billed for use in electoral campaigns was assessed without providing a new opportunity for nonmembers to decide whether they wished to contribute to this effort and (b) nonmembers who previously opted out were nevertheless required to pay more than half of the special assessment even though the union had said that the purpose of the fund was to mount a political campaign and that it would not be used for ordinary union expenses. This aggressive use of power by the SEIU to collect fees from nonmembers is indefensible…

…Which side should bear this risk?

The answer is obvious: the side whose constitutional rights are not at stake. “Given the existence of acceptable alternatives, [a] union cannot be allowed to commit dissenters’ funds to improper uses even temporarily.” Ellis, 466 U. S., at 444. Thus, if unconsenting nonmembers pay too much, their First Amendment rights are infringed. On the other hand, if unconsenting nonmembers pay less than their proportionate share, no constitutional right of the union is violated because the union has no constitutional right to receive any payment from these employees. See Davenport, 551 U. S., at 185. The union has simply lost for a few months the “extraordinary” benefit of being em- powered to compel nonmembers to pay for services thatthey may not want and in any event have not agreed to fund.
As we have noted, by allowing unions to collect any fees rather than opt-in schemes when annual dues are billed, our cases have substantially impinged upon the First Amendment rights of nonmembers. In the new situation presented here, we see no justification for any further impingement. The general rule—individuals should not be compelled to subsidize private groups or private speech—should prevail.

Public-sector unions have the right under the First Amendment to express their views on political and socialissues without government interference. See, e.g., Citizens United v. Federal Election Comm’n, 558 U. S. ___ (2010). But employees who choose not to join a union have the same rights. The First Amendment creates a forum in which all may seek, without hindrance or aid from the State, to move public opinion and achieve their politicalgoals. “First Amendment values [would be] at serious riskif the government [could] compel a particular citizen, or adiscrete group of citizens, to pay special subsidies for speech on the side that [the government] favors.” United Foods, 533 U. S., at 411. Therefore, when a public-sectorunion imposes a special assessment or dues increase, the union must provide a fresh Hudson notice and may not exact any funds from nonmembers without their affirmative consent…

For those unfamiliar with Knox v. SEIU, you can catch up by listening to the Supreme Court’s oral arguments below.

H/t MacIver Institute.  As usual Progressives are selective about freedom of speech and freedom of the press.  The rationale is that if one’s reporting stands in opposition to the Marxist agenda, then that individual must be silenced.

GBTV: Cheering Economic Terrorism – SEIU, Steven Lerner – Agenda to Create Crisis

We have all seen the signs exhibited by squatters at Zuccotti Park that read, “NOT FOR SALE” but like all things Communists, nothing is as it appears.

It is amazing how those clamoring for a free ride make it so easy.  Labor unions, Communists financial entities are coveting, brainwashing and purchasing the souls of these young elitist college students.

How about that?

I have never been hired by a poor man or woman.  How about you?

“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.”

In order for Marxists to convince their supporters of their agenda, they engage heavily in misrepresentations about anyone who opposes their agenda.

“Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s (goods).”

Nor do I desire to covet that which belongs to someone else.

How about you?

Progressives are unethical and gluttonous.  It is not good enough to have their own; they want yours and mine as well.  Of course, they are not choosy.  They claim that they want only from the rich but the middle class pays taxes yet that is not enough.

Progressives want more.

Progressives want it all.

The middle class who support this agenda are chumps who will never realize until it is too late that they have been duped.

Progressive thugs will not dispense their way a waiver of exclusion.  If these Marxists are allowed to succeed, all bones will be picked dry collectively.  That is the way Communism works.

Stephen Lerner and those who support Communism are traitors, the nation’s number one enemy and must be brought down and treated as such.

Wake up America!  The time to stand and fight is now.

One has to be a real jacka** to listen to anything this thug has to say.  Oh yes and what of the news blackout?  Clearly the lame stream media is in the corner of these thugs.

This sob and those of his ilk should be brought up on charges of treason and anyone who follows his lead, an accessory to the crime.  H/t The Blaze.

And so I ask, IS THIS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE?

Can’t help but wonder how many SEIU members dare to ask such a question.
