Every week, the WoW! community and our invited guests weigh in at the Watcher’s Forum, short takes on a major issue of the day, the culture, or daily living. This week’s question: When Does The Mueller Investigation End? With What Result?

Dave Schuler: I figure I may live to see it.There will be more indictments for lying to the FBI or perjury.They won’t find an underlying crime.

Laura Rambeau Lee : The Mueller investigation will go on through at least the 2018 elections if only to perpetuate the uncertainty of foreign governments interfering in our election process. In the end there will be no substantial indictments or convictions related to the investigation with which he was tasked.

Rob Miller : How long? A couple of possibilities. What Mueller is doing, with the help of the complicit media is indicting people on ‘process crimes.’ As we saw from the way Scooter Libby was railroaded, that can be as little as mistaking a date previously given during a prior interrogation by the Famous But Incompetent. That’s not really enough to go anywhere with after millions of dollars and almost two years. Let’s also remember that Mueller is concentration on supposed Republican collusion with Russia and the Trump campaign rather than his original mandate to explore any Russian interference in our elections. If this swine was really doing that, Hillary, Loretta Lynch, James Comey and a number of others would be under indictment since it’s become all too obvious that thereal collusion with the Russians came from Hillary, the DNC and the Democrats.

But of course, that would be getting a little too close to home for Mr. Mueller, nicht wahr? I still wonder why a second special prosecutor isn’t investigating the Uranium One affair, which involved bribery and collusion at the highest levels of government, greatly involved national security…and happened on Mueller’s watch while he was head of the FBI and went through without a single caution or objection from him.

Much depends on how the midterms turn out. If the Dems make significant gains, the faux investigation/witch hunt will get some new oxygen, although no real results will occur, which is generally what happens when you deliberately look in the wrong places. If, as is more likely, the Dem’s gains are slight and both houses remain in Republican hands, Mueller’s ‘investigation will take a few heads for process crimes and nothing else. J. Edgar would weep to see what the once fine organization he built from the ground up has degenerated into.

#TheMemoReleased, the Roadmap.

Robert Mueller’s crossroad

Several millions of dollars and several months ago, a Special Counsel investigation was launched into whether the Russian government had been able to influence the outcome of the 2016 election, and whether Donald Trump and/or several members of his campaign staff had assisted in this effort.

Almost a year later, there is still no clear legal guidance as to just where “collusion”, which is not a crime, ends and where genuine criminal activities such as attempting to steal an election begins. So far no one has been criminally charged with respect to this specific commission to the Special Counsel, Robert Mueller. No evidence has been uncovered that votes were stolen, or that thefts were even attempted on them, in any state.

But today we now know the basis for this investigation was drummed up. Not only that, we can prove it in a court of law rather than the court of public opinion, where the Left believes all these issues should be played out. People can go to jail in our courts.

My commentary, below, is about a roadmap, #TheMemo, but the DOJ Deputy, Rod Rosenstein, handed a World Atlas to Robert Mueller to guide his search for that elusive Russian connection. (He did this the day after Donald Trump had turned down Robert Mueller as the FBI director to replace James Comey. But for this #TheMemo, no one would have ever made this connection, but now it appears Rosenstein will get to answer why he made this decision under oath, unless he chooses not to after he’s been advised of his Miranda rights.)

This is the difference between a Roadmap and a World Atlas. One can tell you how to get from here to there.

When Mueller was first appointed there was speculation about who or what he worked for, and how far he would go to get conviction(s) that would harm the President.

Let’s be honest, that was his true objective and most everyone on both sides knew it, the only difference being that the Left, the Democrats, assumed Mueller would lie, cheat and steal to gain the win, while most, but not all, on the Right said we should give the guy a chance, if for no other reason, to see if he measured up to his established reputation in history. I was one who said, in July 2017, that Mueller was not likely to risk tarnishing his place so is unlikely not to attempt to manufacture evidence out of whole cloth.

He’s now reached that place where he proves one side or the other wrong[…]

BREAKING: See my post over at Grumpy Opinions entitled, “GOP Lawmakers: ‘Intel Comm. Must Release Classified Memo on DOJ, FBI #FISAabuse to Public“

This week continues to get stranger by the hour but one thing is certain, Progressives have openly declared war on all of America; and if what I am relaying here is true, Congressional and Senate Committee members along with everyone else are fair game to be preyed upon by Marxists.

UPDATE:

Would Twitter REALLY shut down the twitter account of the “House Permanent Select Committee On Intelligence”? The twitter handle is allegedly @HPSCI.

If @HPSCI is really the twitter handle of the “House Permanent Select Committee On Intelligence,” as of 3:03 a.m. this morning (Friday 1/19/2018) the account remains suspended begging one to ask, why is Twitter censuring/banning a Congressional agency?

Let’s just say for a moment that Twitter intentionally suspended the account…how low will Progressives sink? In light of the insanity, I took the following screenshot just moments ago.

ORIGINAL POST:

Did Twitter just shut down the twitter account of the “House Permanent Select Committee On Intelligence”? They’re twitter handle is allegedly @HPSCI.

On Thursday afternoon, early evening reports began to surface across the social media site that Twitter suspended the twitter account of the “House Permanent Select Committee On Intelligence” [@HPSCI] (i) after calls by GOP lawmakers that a four-page classified memo revealing FISA abuses be made public and (ii) calls to #ReleasetheDocument #ReleasetheMemo #FISAabuse heated up as these hashtags began trending well into the night. (Although still trending, twitter as usual has removed the hashtags from the sidebar.)

As of 4:48 EST on Jan. 18, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence’s Twitter account — @HPSCI — is suspended. Why on the day that House members are now having access to classified document regarding FISA abuse?

— John Miller 🇮🇪 🇬🇧 🇫🇷 (@JohnMAGAMiller1) January 18, 2018

Twitter has suspended the account for House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence AND the @HPsci does not even show up on searches when you type in the handle.
What gives?! pic.twitter.com/ZU0QQWss8N

— Politically Stripped ™️ (@politstrip) January 18, 2018

@JackPosobiec @PrisonPlanet @TuckerCarlson @SaraCarterDC @RepDevinNunes – it seems Twitter has decided that the United States Gov House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence needs to be suspended and censored-maybe have a talk to @jeffsessions about anti-trust laws? @POTUS https://t.co/XPtsXpsrYj

— Casey (@raphaellaN) January 19, 2018

The memo allegedly exposes alleged government surveillance (FISA) abuses and collusion between members of Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the FBI, the DOJ and quite possibly the Clintons long-time pal, Sydney Blumenthal to undermine the campaign and presidency of President Donald J. Trump.

Apparently, it’s getting a little too hot for some folks and the timing of the alleged suspension of THE “House Permanent Select Committee On Intelligence” [@HPSCI], provided that is the their account is SUSPECT leading one to ask, who was it this time, Jack Dorsey or another disgruntled employee on his or her final day of work? Or is this a hoax intended to divert attention away from Republicans calling for the public release of the memo?

Moving on…for now.

In his role as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he is asking questions and demanding answers about the seven memos written by Comey, four of which he shared with a professor friend who then shared them with the media.

The memos were marked confidential and one was marked secret. We have since found out that they were classified at the time they were shared.

Grassley has read all seven and did so in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, or SCIF, as they contained restricted information, The Washington Times reported.

In a strongly-worded letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Grassley asked if the matter was being reviewed and if so, what is the status?

“Has there been any review of whether the disclosure of the memoranda by Mr. Comey was otherwise improper, such as whether it violated his employment agreement or any Department rule or policy? If so, what is the status of the review? If not, why not?” the Iowa Republican asked in a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein[…]

GOP Introduces Resolution Calling for Mueller’s Recusal.

Just hours ago, Congressional Reps Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Louis Gohmert (R-TX) introduced to the house a resolution calling former FBI Director, now Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller to recuse himself due to the fact that Mueller is compromised.
Rep. Gaetz released the following press statement:

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL), member of the House Judiciary Committee, introduced a resolution today calling for the resignation of Robert Mueller, former Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, from his position as Special Counsel.

“Evidence has emerged that the FBI withheld information from Congress and from the American people about Russian corruption of American uranium companies. A confidential U.S. witness, working in the Russian nuclear industry, revealed that Russia had deeply compromised an American uranium trucking firm through bribery and financial kickbacks.

Although federal agents possessed this information in 2010, the Department of Justice continued investigating this “matter” for over four years. The FBI, led at the time by Robert Mueller, required the confidential witness to sign a non-disclosure agreement. When the witness attempted to contact Congress and federal courts about the bribery and corruption he saw, he was threatened with legal action. By silencing him, Obama’s Justice Department and Mueller’s FBI knowingly kept Congress in the dark about Russia’s significant and illegal involvement with American uranium companies.

These deeply troubling events took place when Mr. Mueller was the Director of the FBI. As such, his impartiality is hopelessly compromised. He must step down immediately,” Rep. Gaetz said in a statement.

Cosponsors of the resolution currently include Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX).

In July 2017, Rep. Gaetz offered an amendment in the House Judiciary Committee, as well as a stand-alone resolution, calling for a special counsel to investigate former FBI Director James Comey’s collusion with Robert Mueller, the FBI’s mishandling of the Hillary Clinton investigation, and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s infamous “tarmac conversation” with former President Bill Clinton. To view Rep. Gaetz’s amendment, and his stand-alone resolution, click HERE and HERE. To watch Rep. Gaetz offering his amendment, click HERE.

The text of the resolution can be found below.

Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that Robert Mueller should resign from his special counsel position.

Whereas from 2001–2013, Robert Mueller served as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation;

Whereas as early as 2009, the FBI discovered that Russian officials were engaging in bribery and extortion, tainting the American uranium industry in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act to strengthen their own nuclear program;

Whereas investigations into Russia’s corruption of American uranium-related businesses were supervised by then-United States Attorney Rod Rosenstein, currently serving as Deputy Attorney General, and then-Assistant FBI Director Andrew McCabe, currently serving as Deputy Director
of the FBI;

Whereas despite knowledge of this corruption, backed by documents and an eyewitness account, neither the Department of Justice nor the Federal Bureau of Investigation under the leadership of Mr. Mueller brought charges;

Whereas the Department of Justice actively threatened the liberty of a confidential informant embedded within Russia’s nuclear program who wished to inform Congress about Russian corruption of American uranium-related companies, and the FBI required this informant to sign a non-disclosure agreement, intentionally depriving Congress of information vital to national security and Congressional oversight authority;

Whereas Members of Congress have raised objections to, and concerns with, the sale of American uranium assets to Russian companies, and raised these concerns in official correspondence to then-President Obama as early as 2010;

Whereas in 2010, when the Russian Federation needed American approval of uranium sales, former President William Jefferson Clinton received hundreds of thousands of dollars in speaking fees from Kremlin-linked institutions, and requested approval from the State Department to meet with central figures in Russia’s nuclear industry, and eventually met with Russian leader Vladimir V. Putin at Mr. Putin’s private residence;

Whereas the Clinton Foundation has either directly or indirectly received undisclosed donations totaling millions of dollars from Russian-linked sources, including from officials in Russia’s nuclear program;

Whereas in 2010, Hillary Clinton, founder of the Clinton Foundation, wife of former President Clinton, and then Secretary of State, approved the sale of Uranium One to a Russian state-owned nuclear technology corporation;

Whereas any thorough and honest investigation into the corruption of American-uranium related business must include investigating the willful blindness of the FBI and its leaders;

Whereas under 28 CFR 45.2, no individual can participate in a criminal investigation if he has a personal or political relationship with any organization substantially involved in the conduct that is subject of the investigation;

Whereas under 28 CFR 45.2, no individual may participate in a criminal investigation if the individual’s participation would create an appearance of conflict of interest likely to affect public perception of the integrity of the investigation;

Whereas the Code of Federal Regulations, applied to Mr. Mueller, demonstrates that he cannot be allowed to investigate his former colleagues, supervisors, and subordinates;

and

Whereas these obvious conflicts of interest are unacceptable to the United States justice system and the American people:

Now, therefore, be it Resolved,

That House of Representatives expresses its sense that Robert Mueller is compromised and should resign from his special counsel position immediately.

Whether or not this resolution picks up steam remains to be seen but more and more Republicans are calling on Mueller to recuse himself.

Forum: Should Robert Mueller Be Fired?

Robert Mueller, Special prosecutor

Every week on Monday, the WoW! community and our invited guests weigh in at the Weekly Forum, short takes on a major issue of the day, the culture, or daily living. This week’s question:Should Robert Mueller Be Fired?

Don Surber: Robert Mueller poses no threat to anyone but himself. His arrogance — hubris — will do him in because he does not know whom he is dealing with. Mueller is a perfect media darling because he reflects so many of the swelled heads in the newsrooms.

Donald Trump is no ordinary billionaire, if such a beast exists. He knows the law well, the politicians better, and the press best of all.

Trump hires best lawyers. Roy Cohn was his first attorney. Ruthless. Prosecuted the Rosenbergs and got them executed. When the feds charged Trump with housing discrimination, Cohn countersued for defamation and demanded that the feds file an actual lawsuit, not just an administrative action.

Two years later they settled with Trump paying no fine and making no admission of any guilt.

Trump is not a man to be trifled with.

Trump has been involved in 3,500 lawsuits. He knows the courts better than any president not named Lincoln. Some cases he won. Some he lost.

Mueller should know this. He does not seem to know. He has been a federal prosecutor too long. They have nearly unlimited power.

But I think he has met his match.

Name someone who began a feud with him who prevailed. You cannot. Rosie O’Donnell went from the queen of nice on daytime TV to whatever she is today.

Megyn Kelly got a nice deal with NBC — and is watched by fewer people now than she was at Fox News.

And so on.

The Russian dossier is fiction by a retired British intelligence officer. In nine months since it was made public, no one has independently verified any of the 35 allegations.
Trump lawyered up anyway, and it will pay off.

The leak of grand juries on Friday night was a breach of ethics. Mueller has nothing on Trump, and Manafort is nothing to him.

Mueller tried to get Trump through his kids. That was a low blow.

Firing Mueller now makes this swine a martyr.

Keep him.

He has nothing. He will whither on the vine.

Rob Miller: Mueller shouldn’t be fired, at least not right now. But he needs to be neutralized by destroying his credibility in public.

The twin scandals of Fusion GPS, the spying and illegal wiretapping by the Obama Administration on a political campaign by the opposing party during an election year, and Uranium One, which Mueller appears to be directly complicit in have already been revealed.The Democrat’s servile media minions are doing the best they can to twist things around and muddy up the details to confuse the American people, but I unraveled the facts last week in an easy to follow article, and when they’re presented in a straightfoward manner it’s obvious that the very people ranting about Donald Trump and ‘Russia collusion’ were the ones colluding with the Russians themselves.

Robert Mueller is clearly implicated in the Uranium One Scandal, which happened during Mrs. Clinton’s term as Secretary of State in 2010 Certain Canadian investors working on behalf of the Russian government wanted to acquire ownership of certain assets amounting to one fifth of U.S. uranium production. They were represented by the Podesta Group ( yes, that would be John Podesta and his brother Tom), who lobbied Washington for them.

Since this involved strategic materials, it needed oversight and a green light from Hillary Clinton’s State Department. That green light was obtained after these same investors ‘donated’ $148 million dollars to the Clinton Foundation and arranged for Bill Clinton to receive $500,000 for a speech in Russia, more than double his usual fee. There are also some indications a donation to the Clinton Library was involved as well.

As the Hill revealed recently, the FBI had uncovered a bribery plot involving the Russians and uranium transactions in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. They had substantial evidence, including eyewitnesses. The investigation also revealed that the deal involving the Clintons was part of the illegal bribery scam. Yet someone ordered the FBI not to reveal the details of their investigation or even to disclose it to Congress. Essentially, things were stonewalled for four more years,until 2015, after Obama’s re-election. So the deal went through, even though the Obama Administration was fully aware of what the FBI had uncovered.

The head of the FBI when this was going on was Robert Mueller. Either he personally quashed the bribery investigation or he was told by his boss Eric Holder to do it and complied. There’s no way he couldn’t have known the national security implications of the Uranium One deal, yet he stonewalled the investigation until after Barack Obama was re-elected.

Meuller was always going to come up with something, and I imagine it will be trumped up charges involving Paul Manafort or perhaps against Donald Jr. for taking a meeting with a Russian lawyer withsome connections to the Russian government about – wait for it – adoptions!

It’s also pretty obvious that Mueller whipped this stuff up in a hurry to try and spin the news cycle and bury the facts about who really colluded with Russia.

That’s why the President needs to immediately name a special prosecutor to investigate these scandals, and especially, to investigate Robert Mueller among other things. He obviously knew about the bribery. Why did Mueller stonewall the investigation? Did he receive orders to do it, and if so, from whom? Is there any evidence in his bank records that he received a sum of money or profited via an investment? And as head of the FBI, what made him be so negligent as to turn his back on something so vital to national security, keep his mouth shut and attempt to bury it?

The Democrat’s Trump Russia lie is already on life support. A solid special prosecutor ought to be able to finish the job and turn the spotlight on some of the most corrupt people ever to hold public office and betray the public trust.

Patrick O’Hannigan: I agree with Don that Robert Mueller will likely “wither on the vine,” but I still think that President Trump should fire him rather than waiting for that to happen. There would be political repercussions to firing Mueller, because the anti-Trumpers and the Left would indeed treat him (undeservedly) as a martyr, and would have another fig leaf with which to try to cover bad behavior by the Obama administration and its notoriously tone-deaf Secretary of State. On the other hand, there is, I think, a significant up-side to demonstrating (by letting Mueller go) that the rule of law actually requires prudent exercise of responsibility in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of government.

Robert Mueller, when he was running the FBI, had to have known more than a little of what the rest of us are now learning about the extortion and backroom-dealing behind Uranium One. He would also have realized that the Clinton Foundation was little more than a global money laundering operation. He probably figured that going after the Clintons or the Russians was a waste of resources. You can argue the merits of that inactivity, but it’s ridiculous to make him the point man for an investigation into “collusion with Russia” now when he did nothing about it then.

I was once sympathetic to the argument that Mueller ought not be criticized for staffing his current investigation with donors to the Democrat party, because every big law firm donates to the party in power, so the pool of investigative talent was always going to be in the shadow of the DNC. That argument no longer persuades me, because Mueller himself has been so obviously partisan. He was touted as having earned “bipartisan respect,” but what that means today is that other agents of the “administrative state” recognize him as one of their own. President Trump was elected in large part on his promise to Make America Great Again. He was going to do that not just in positive ways (such as tax reform and repeal of “Obamacare”), but also in negative ways, by “draining the swamp” that Washington, D.C. has become. Mueller is part of the problem, not part of the solution. Firing him would be akin to saying (correctly) that when President Obama created the DACA program and the immigration machinery around it, he did that in an unconstitutional manner, by executive order.

Let’s not forget that Robert Mueller and James Comey are friends, either. I don’t know either man and can’t fairly judge their characters, but Comey’s record has been less than stellar, and friends ought not be put in charge of “investigating” each other. Mueller and his acolytes continue looking at President Trump while the media breathlessly reports even uncorroborated “findings,” but Mueller’s activity looks more and more like willful misdirection every day. By looking at Republicans (or even alleged Republicans), Mueller helps his Democrat friends avoid the spotlight that should be on them. For example, people are talking about Uranium One because Hillary Clinton is still a high-profile name, but how about Debbie Wasserman-Shultz and her unusual IT staffing arrangements? Those had national security implications, too.

Laura Rambeau Lee : Robert Mueller should have recused himself at the outset of this investigation. The fact that he did not in spite of his obvious and many conflicts of interest leads me to believe his job as special counsel is to make sure the truth of what really transpired between the DNC, the Clinton campaign and the Russians never comes to light. It appears the establishment Democrats AND Republicans seem bent on taking down a duly elected President Trump. A Friday leak revealed the Mueller team has filed the first charge or charges in the case with a federal grand jury, although the charges have been sealed by a federal judge. We may find out who has been charged and what the charges are as early as Monday. Will it be someone connected to the Trump campaign? All of this high drama is a smoke screen to keep us from finding out the real truth. Congress should end this investigation now.

Well, there it is!
