A technology evangelist is a person who builds a critical mass of support for a given technology, and then establishes it as a technical standard in a market that is subject to network effects.^[1] An evangelist promotes the use of a particular product or technology through talks, articles, blogging, user demonstrations, recorded demonstrations, or the creation of sample projects. The word evangelism is taken from the context of religious evangelism due to the similarity of relaying information about a particular set of beliefs with the intention of converting the recipient.

 

As with traditional religious evangelists, these technology evangelists possess similar fervor and strive to convince others that their products and services are the way to educational salvation. There are several types of technology evangelists who hawk their message to increase the use of their products or services:

Target areas

Platform evangelism is one target of technology evangelism, in which the vendor of a two-sided platformattempts to accelerate the production of complementary goods by independent developers. (e.g.,Facebook encourages developers to create games or develop mobile apps that can enhance users’ experiences with Facebook.)

Professional technology evangelists are often employed by firms seeking to establish their technologies as de facto standards.

Open-source evangelists operate independently. Evangelists also participate in defining open standards. Non-professional technology evangelists may act out of altruism or self-interest (e.g., to gain the benefits of early adoption or network effect).

History of term

The term “software evangelist” was coined by Mike Murray of Apple Computer‘s Macintosh computerdivision.^[2] The first so-identified technology evangelist was Mike Boich — who promoted the Macintosh computer.^[3] The job is often closely related to both sales and training, but requires specific technology marketing skills. For example, convincing a potential buyer or user to change from older methods to new ones. Technology evangelism is sometimes associated with an internal employee assigned to encourage new practices within an organization. The marketing aspect of the role was strongly influenced by Geoffrey Moore and his books concerning the technology adoption lifecycle.

Notable technology evangelists

Notable technology evangelists^{[citation needed]} in the commercial arena include Steve Jobs (Apple Inc.), Vint Cerf (Google), Don Box, Guy Kawasaki, Alex St. John, Myriam Joire (Pebble), Dan Martin (MasterCard). Court records^[4][5] indicate that James Plamondon was a leading theorist, strategist, and practitioner of technology evangelism at Microsoft during its establishment of Microsoft Windows as the de factostandard PC operating system.

Teacher admits he helped write Common Core to end white privilege

A teacher told attendees at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics Monday night that he helped write the controversial Common Core education standards to end white privilege.

Dr. David Pook, a professor at Granite State College and chair of the History department at The Derryfield School in Manchester, New Hampshire, argued in favor of Common Core.

Ironically, the $28,535 per year Derryfield School that Dr. Pook teaches at considers the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) inferior and does not use them on the student body that is 91% white…..

Oh, somebody stop this liar before he shoots himself in the foot. David Pook is not suffering from white privilege or white guilt. Pook is an elitist who has jumped on the Common Core money train.

It is his job to espouse these lies and propaganda at which he sucks. This is the case of Progressives pretending that they are opening the door for our children and grandchildren’s future while at the same time, turning off the lights and nailing the door shut tight.

As reported by Achieve the Core, Pook, an elitist, shareholder and profiteer in the mis-education of American children:

“…worked closely with Susan Pimentel and the Council of Chief State Officers in drafting the Core Standards for English Language Arts, and currently has several projects underway with Student Achievement Partners on work aligned with the CCSS. On his own and in partnership with consulting organizations like Achieve, The Aspen Institute, and EdFirst, he has helped evaluate and design English and History standards, curriculum, and courses for numerous states, districts, and charter schools. With Achieve, David helped design the PARCC Model Content Frameworks and provided analysis regarding their college-readiness materials for the American Diploma Project. He is currently working with CCSSO on the design of the English Language Development Proficiency Framework and assists AFT on creating close reading exemplars for EL students. His consulting work takes him to Boston, Chicago, Hillsborough (Tampa), and Memphis to work with those districts on the implementation of the Common Core. David also teaches art history and philosophy classes at Granite State College and lectures regularly at Colby-Sawyer’s Adventures In Learning program and the Concord Music School.

 

I have been thinking this white privilege thing formerly labeled white guilt through since Occupy Wall Street came on the scene.

Pook and his fellow Progressives so-called agenda to end white privilege is a necessary tool through Common Core in order to move America completely down the road to serfdom.

Hear me out.

Progressives spent decades productively encoding self-destructive behavioral patterns into generations of Blacks, which included self-loathing.

I am saying that the indoctrination of Black Americans was one of the first steps toward something far more nefarious and widespread.

Mission accomplished, Progressive have now trained their sights on Caucasians. In other words, only the elite are safe.

The next stepping-stone and they are almost there is encoding self-destructive behavioral patterns into Caucasians, particularly the youth, better yet young children. The tool to achieve this goal is “white privilege” formerly labeled “white guilt.”

Since Common Core is the dumbing down of America, elitists are ensuring that the assault on the person, psychic and liberties of our children and children goes full circle.

That would include the data mining of our children’s information. After all, a slave owns nothing.

David Pook is an overseer who uses Common Core standard to keep the slaves on the Progressive
