Grumpy Opinions by Tabitha Korol

Several recent studies have revealed the increased number of public school and college students who are experiencing various forms of mental illness, such as depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, and others.  A Wall Street Journal report claims as many as 25 percent in elite colleges are thus classified, and require accommodations for exam taking, seating preference, quiet private rooms, and comfort animals. Steve Schlozman and Eliza Abdu-Glass, authors of The College Mental Health Crisis: Focus on Suicide, disclosed the thousands of suicides on college campuses each year, about two to three every day.  Their emphasis is on students’ inadequate counseling, but we should ask why this generation, specifically, is so unstable and why the obvious signs have been ignored.

Is it possible to identify what could be so threatening?

Our educational system was restructured according to a radical, global, political ideology (Agenda 21) promoted by President Obama’s White House, Bill and Melinda Gates, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, the Governors Association, and other supporters of a federal takeover of education for a Global Economy.  Called the Common Core Standards, it was implemented by 46 states and D.C.  While we were deluged with Hillary Clinton’s oft-uttered phrase, “no child left behind,” David Coleman, the architect of the controversial, experimental (experimenting on our children!) curriculum, was executing an equal-outcome system, thereby eliminating the motivation and ambition of equal opportunity for individual excellence and achievement, each to his/her own interests and abilities.  And, since all schools – public, private, parochial, home schools – were subject to the same textbooks and tests, and the governors handsomely rewarded, the Standards were assumed almost nationwide.

Result: the students have become guinea pigs to a seemingly untested Standard – with a specific purpose[…]

Florida School Shooting Story Changes Again | Broward County, Nikolas Cruz and The Truth

Broward County School District, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Parkland Shooting, Public Schools, the PROMISE program

There is a pattern here and as expected, all roads leading back to Barack Obama, Arne Duncan and Eric Holder’s so-called PROMISE program, of which is supposed to eliminate the “public school-to-prison pipeline.”

The PROMISE program is just another social justice illusion and as all things involving social justice, it does the opposite of what it label claims.

Enter the Parkland mass shooting that occurred earlier this year at Marjory Stoneman High School but since the PROMISE program is not really about anything but indoctrination and the enslavement of young minds, those who died during the mass shooting are considered in the eyes of those hiding their true agenda as collateral damage.

Fortunately, the truth has a habit of coming to light.

Published on May 11, 2018 by Stefan Molyneux

On Wednesday February 14th, 2018 at approximately 2:21pm, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, killing 17 people and wounding 17 survivors.

While many immediately pushed for gun control in the aftermath of this horrible mass slaughter, recent information has made a strong case for a different change in policy.

In 2011-2012, Broward County Public Schools had 1,056 total student arrests – 71% for misdemeanor offenses. These were the highest overall numbers in the state of Florida.

After concerns over “students of color, students with disabilities and LGBTQ students” being “disproportionately impacted by school-based arrests” – the PROMISE program was created in 2013. Standing for Preventing Recidivism through Opportunities, Mentoring, Interventions, Supports & Education – the PROMISE program was specifically implemented in an effort to “eliminate the school-to-prison pipeline.” After the implementation of the PROMISE program, Broward County Public School arrests dropped from 1,056 students in 2011-2012, to only 392 during the 2015-2016 school year.

#SEXEDSITOUT

Tomorrow (April 23rd), parents in cities across the United States, including Charlotte, North Carolina, Austin, Texas, in Canada, Australia and London, England are engaging in a Sex Ed Sit Out.

Protesting the Perversion & Mis-Education of Our Children

Parents will keep their children out of school Monday in protest of Planned Parenthood’s involvement and its unsavory pro-sex agenda pushed in public schools across the nation.  Homosexuality, anal and oral sex, how to “masturbate one another, and question their gender,” none of which has any place in the educational system, plays a major role in the push for social justice and all of which now takes precedence in public schools over the Three R’s and history.

[SIDEBAR: About the Three R’s, social justice have replaced teaching our children reading writing and arithmetic which has been moved to the back burner. Cursive writing is non-existent and the history that is being taught in our schools presents a skewed view of America, our Founding Fathers, and the rule of law.  Lessons teaching the Bill of Rights is practically non-existent and when taught, what is being pushed as the Bill of Rights is historically incorrect. END OF SIDEBAR]

Black Community News

…Some government schools, supported by the U.S. taxpayer, allow Planned Parenthood into schools through a “sex-ed” program called “Get Real,” for example.

Why more Christian parents aren’t outraged about this is a mystery, but it’s encouraging to know some parents are taking action[…]

Another Way For Anti-Vaxxers To Skip Shots For Schoolkids: A Doctor’s Note

Forced Vaccines, Public Schools

I hate that label anti-vaxxers.

Below is an article that I thought worth sharing even though I do not believe that parents opposing medical vaccines are misguided.  I’d also like to point out that the measles that originated a few years back in Disneyland had much to do with Barack Obama’s mass immigration of illegals from South America and Mexico.

Kaiser Health News by Ana B. Ibarra, Kaiser Health News and Barbara Feder Ostrov

Dr. Tara Zandvliet was inundated with calls and emails from parents last year, after California passed a law nixing personal beliefs as an exemption from school vaccinations. Suddenly, many parents sought exemptions for medical reasons.

Someone even faked two medical exemption forms purportedly written by the San Diego pediatrician, copying a legitimate document she’d provided for a patient and writing in the names of students she’d never treated, she said. She learned of the forgeries only when the school called for verification.

Only 1 in 10 families contacting her for such exemptions could cite a legitimate reason, such as a severe allergic reaction to a previous vaccine, Zandvliet said. Of those kids with valid health problems, she estimates, only about a third merited the exemption.

Families who oppose mandated immunization for schoolchildren may be seeking medical exemptions to get around the new state law, which requires kindergartners entering public and private schools to be fully vaccinated regardless of families’ personal beliefs, according to a study published Tuesday in JAMA, the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Before the 2016-17 school year, parents who opposed vaccination, or anti-vaxxers as they are often called, could enroll their unvaccinated children in school citing the personal belief exemption, based on religious or philosophical convictions, for example.

After a rampant measles outbreak originating at Disneyland in 2014 that resulted in 147 cases reported across seven states, California scrapped the personal belief exemption. The law, which was hotly contested by some parents, left in place waivers for medical reasons.

Such a stringent policy is fairly unusual. Eighteen states have personal belief exemptions and 47 allow parents to opt out of vaccinations for their children based on religious beliefs, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Besides California, Mississippi and West Virgina allow exemptions based on medical concerns alone.

Michigan also recently tackled this issue and required families seeking an exemption to meet personally with local public health departments. After instituting the new rules, state officials reported that the number of waivers fell 35 percent.

The increase in California medical waivers suggests that anti-vaccine parents may be finding doctors willing to exempt their kids from the mandate, according to the researchers.

The study, which used data from the California Department of Public Health, shows that the number of medical exemptions among kindergartners, though small, tripled to 2,850 in 2016 from the previous year. Meanwhile, the number of exemptions for personal beliefs was about four times lower in 2016 than in the year before. (They did not plunge to zero in part because some pre-kindergartners had exemptions that were grandfathered in under the law.)

The state’s law, however, gives doctors more wiggle room to authorize medical exemptions — for example, for children with a family history of adverse reactions to vaccines.

Paul Delamater, an assistant professor at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and lead author of the JAMA study, said this reason is inconsistent with the recommendation from the American Academy of Pediatrics. The academy states that medical exemptions should be reserved for students who could truly be harmed by vaccination, such as those with a weak immune system because of chemotherapy or a known dangerous reaction to a vaccine ingredient.

Many of the California counties with the biggest increases in medical exemptions since the law took effect are in Northern California, including Shasta, Plumas, Sonoma and Marin. Some with high percentages of personal belief exemptions before the law had among the greater increases in medical waivers afterward, Delamater said.

In one Southern California county, Orange, the number of medical exemptions went from 92 in the 2015-16 school year to 348 in 2016-17, according to state data. Meanwhile the number of personal belief exemptions decreased from 1,270 to 269 in the same period.

“The medical exemption increase is concerning,” said Catherine Flores-Martin, executive director of the California Immunization Coalition, a public-private partnership that promotes vaccinations and co-sponsored the state’s vaccine law.

Flores-Martin said health professionals expected a short-term rise in medical exemptions because parents previously may have obtained the easier-to-get personal belief exemptions for children who actually qualified medically. But the rise in medical exemptions is greater than she had anticipated, and Flores-Martin said some doctors may be inappropriately offering them to parents on a broad basis.

“It would be unusual for a child to be exempted from every vaccine forever, because that’s pretty extreme. You see patterns [of such exemptions] in some of these schools. I don’t think that’s a coincidence.”

Her group is encouraging people to contact the Medical Board of California if they encounter doctors writing medical exemptions for conditions like asthma that aren’t included under the state law.

“It really isn’t up to the parents,” Flores-Martin said. “Some doctors may feel emboldened if they … feel they can do that without scrutiny or consequence. It’s an issue that physicians need to address with their peers, and we’re going to help start that conversation. It’s up to the doctors to behave professionally.”

Many parents who don’t want vaccinations for their children, including some vocal opponents from affluent, well-educated regions of the state, say they are concerned that vaccines are linked to autism, despite overwhelming scientific evidence that this is not the case.

Zandvliet, the San Diego doctor, tries to take a judicious approach. Unlike some other doctors, she doesn’t charge extra for writing exemptions. She does, however, require families asking for an exemption to provide medical documentation of the child’s condition before she’ll write one.

Although she said she has not yet written a permanent medical exemption for all vaccines, she has written “medical exemptions lite,” which spare the students from one or more vaccines for a limited period. Sometimes, she will write these for students with siblings who experienced an adverse reaction to the vaccine, although she acknowledges there are no studies showing that it’s useful to do so.

For families seeking exemptions without a health reason, perhaps because they’re misinformed or philosophically opposed to vaccines, Zandvliet takes the opportunity to educate them. Sometimes, she succeeds in getting reluctant parents to partially vaccinate their children, or to spread out vaccines over a longer period than the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends.

“If we stop listening as doctors, we’re going to turn people off,” Zandvliet said. “Doctors are saying, ‘If you won’t go by the CDC schedule for vaccinations, get out of my office.’ So they didn’t vaccinate, and they didn’t protect that child.”

Pamela Kahn, president-elect of the California School Nurses Organization, who works in Orange County, said California has a strong record on vaccinations and there is only so much school nurses can do to educate parents who oppose them.

“Overall, the vaccine rates are really high in the state of California after this law went into effect,” Kahn said. “When you compare the amount of kids that were exempt between both pools, we’re still way ahead of the game.”

Parents demand privacy protection after school approves transgender bathroom use

Gender confusion

OCALA, Fla. – A Florida school district is protecting the privacy rights of its students by requiring that transgender students use the bathroom that correlates to their biological sex. A new transgender policy under review by the Marion County School Board would restrict transgender students to school restroom facilities based on their biological gender, rather than “gender identity,” and would go into effect on Wednesday if officially approved at Tuesday’s meeting, the Ocala Star Banner reports.

The resolution, discussed by board members Thursday, states that transgender students are “not a protected class under federal or state law or under Marion County Public School policy,” according to the news site.

“Male and female users of MCPS single-sex facilities reasonably expect not to be exposed to persons of the opposite sex while using those facilities.”

The issue surfaced after a Vanguard High School teacher alerted principal John Kerley to a transgender, biologically female student who was using the boy’s restroom[…]

The LBGT Gestapo is stepping up their game as they demand the rights “not to be exposed to persons of the opposite sex while using” the restrooms or dressing rooms. What idiots did not see this coming and what about rights of those they are trampling on.

Infringing upon the liberties, mind you, of those who do not want to share these facilities with transgender is b.s. and the twisting of these laws back and forth is no doubt intentional to create confusion.

Students of America Starving, Rebel against the Nanny State/Tyranny of #MichelleOsSchoolLunchMenu Program. (Part 3 of 3)

TOWNHALL

“…Despite the fact that the new regulations have increased the cost of a lunch 20 to 25 cents per plate, it’s not pleasing students.

Some are throwing away their vegetables while others are adapting to the rules by becoming industrious. In New Bedford, Massachusetts, students have created a black market – for chocolate syrup. The kiddie capitalists are smuggling in bottles of it and selling it by the squeeze, according to SouthCoastToday.com.

Nancy Carvalho, director of food services for New Bedford Public Schools, was quoted as saying that hummus and black bean salads have been tough sells in elementary cafeterias. That means even smaller children are going through the day fighting hunger pains, which can never be considered a good thing.

One government official tried to put the blame on the students….”

HYPOCRISY IN ABUNDANCE

There is, of course, no shortage of hypocrisy wherein Michelle “do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do” Obama’s #MichelleOsSchoolLunchMenu is concerned in that:

(a) You would not feed that crap to a dog (no offense to our canine buddies),

(b) While the Obamas would not feed the #MichelleOsSchoolLunchMenu to their daughters, Sasha and Malia, it has been in the eyes of these elitists, deemed sufficient enough for everyone else’s children; and finally,

(c) The Sidwell School menu (copy below) is nothing like the #MichelleOsSchoolLunchMenu.  In other words, Sasha and Malia’s school lunch is far more superior lunch than the lunch that their mother has regulated for the digestion of students across America.

Giving credit where credit is due, America’s school children are not that indoctrinated after all.  Simply put, this revolt has been a long time coming.

Warning:  Language a little rough but dead on.
