The TSA is fast on its way to being officially nominated Obama’s Civilian Force aka Obama’s brown shirts.  Let us pray that they do not become unionized.

The problem with the unionization of the TSA is that it will empower tactless and condescending government servants who enjoy departing misery upon those with whom they make contact, very much like the Internal Revenue Service.

Said enforcers will deem government blessings and union protection the go ahead to invade, violate, molest, intimidate, interrogate, dehumanize, abuse and trample upon the constitutional rights of taxpaying travelers without fear of repercussions for their behavior.

This would be like adding another three heads on an already three-headed monster.

Imagine the Internal Revenue Service and the Transportation Security Administration being granted law enforcement powers over Americans.  No do not, it is too painful.

TSA officers will vigorously enforce draconian procedures that will leave travelers both traumatized and persecuted.

Policing, reprimanding and/or penalizing these government servants will be like trying to penalize a tenured teacher.

The union in turn will bleed their newfound membership dry and taxpayers who will foot the bill to have their rights violated.  Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional.

In the end, the only ones who will benefit from this marriage will be the UNIONS.

“Rep. David Obey (D-Wis.) unexpectedly announced today that he would not seek re-election, a story first reported by Politico’s David Rogers.

The loss of Obey, the powerful chairman of the House Appropriations Committee and a close ally of SpeakerNancy Pelosi, is a blow to Democrats in a year when anti-incumbent sentiment seems to be on the rise. The Appropriations chairmanship is one of the most powerful positions in Congress, and Obey’s retirement may kick off a fierce fight between potential successors.

The committee is in charge of setting the budget for all federal agencies and funding government contracts, giving the chairman broad powers to affect federal spending and insert last-minute earmarks.

In fiscal year 2009, for instance, Obey sponsored or co-sponsored 70 earmarks totaling more than $150 million dollars — the seventh highest among all members of the House. This year, Obey led the House Democrats in banning on earmarks that benefit for-profit entities.

Obey’s retirement announcement comes as a big surprise. He had shown no intentions of retiring, had already hired campaign staff and won re-election in 2008 with more than 60 percent of the vote.

His campaign war chest was full as well. According to a Center for Responsive analysis, Obey has raised $1.34 million this election cycle and had nearly $1.4 million in cash on hand at the end of March…”

By Drafting a Second Stimulus Bill, Speaker Pelosi Labels Obama Recovery Plan a Failure

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Republican Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) today issued the following statement after it was reported that Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) was open to a second stimulus bill that Democrat House Appropriations Chairman David Obey (D-WI) has begun writing:

“Just three weeks after President Obama signed his ‘stimulus’ bill into law, Congressional Democrats are already conceding that it will fail to achieve its objective.  As the Speaker knows, the only reason to craft a second stimulus bill would be if the first one failed. Every Republican in the House voted against the first stimulus bill because we believed that Congress could do better, and we had a plan to achieve that goal. America does not need another massive spending bill, what we need is to create jobs.

“Republicans developed an innovative plan to preserve, protect, and create twice as many jobs as the bill that Speaker Pelosi rushed to the floor last month. If Democrats believe that their stimulus bill has fallen short, then we should work together on the Republican Economic Recovery Act, which would revitalize struggling small businesses, help middle-class families, and immediately rekindle America’s economy and create jobs.”

Ouch!  Now that has got to hurt.  Thank you Rodrigo Diaz [Category: Christ I Hope So…Pelosi Must Find Eric Cantor Annoying…To bad Nancy Bi…well you know the rest..] for blogging this up and putting the me and the world on top Pelosi’s secret, i.e., Obama’s failure.  Lol.  Can’t help but wonder just how much pork they’ll try to slip in this time around.   

As we all knew long before it was even finalized, H.R. 1 was not a stimulus bill at all, but a spendulous bill.  Although they realize H.R. 1 is a failure of their own accord, we will never hear Obama, his supporters, minions, Pelosi, Reid, Rangel or any of the other pork minded Democrats admit their failure.  However, since they are not as adept as they think they are at covering up the b.s., I want them to know that I know they screwed up.  Furthermore, I take such great pleasure in sharing that fact. 

One more thing, someone might want to tell the President.

A $2 BILLION SHADY DEAL IN THE STIMULUS BILL

Republicans on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee are asking questions about the lobbying activities of Craig Obey, who is the son of House Appropriations Committee chairman David Obey. The elder Obey is, as much as anyone, the author of the giant stimulus bill that passed the House. Craig Obey works for an organization called the National Parks Conservation Association, which describes its mission as “to protect and enhance America’s national parks for present and future generations” and to “advocate for the national parks and the National Park Service.”

Now, it just so happens that the National Park Service stands to get a lot — a lot — of money if a certain provision in the Obey House stimulus bill becomes law. “Under the House version of the stimulus, NPS is to receive in excess of $2 billion,” says a report issued by minority Republicans on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee. “This proposed figure nearly doubles the National Park Service’s annual appropriation, which was $2.39 billion for Fiscal Year 2008.” The money would be given to the Park Service, again according to the Republican report, “without regard for whether the agency will be able to effectively absorb such a significant increase in federal dollars.”

So there are two questions here. One, did Craig Obey lobby his father’s committee on this issue? And two, would the bill give the National Park Service far more than it can deal with?

On the first question, representatives for both Obeys say that Craig Obey did not lobby his father on the issue. But the minority staff on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee has produced evidence that the younger Obey not only lobbies for the National Parks Conservation Association on budget and appropriations issues, but that he was also listed in Association documents as the contact person for issues related to the stimulus bill. So at the very least the House Republicans have raised compelling questions about the propriety of what went on.

As for the second question — like some school systems slated to receive huge amounts of money, there are real questions about whether the Park Service has the ability to wisely spend the amount of money it would receive under the Obey stimulus bill. And indeed, the figure allotted to the National Park Service has been substantially reduced in the Senate version of the stimulus. So at minimum, it appears that the House bill would send too much money to the Park Service, and do so under questionable circumstances.
