~ “I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts.” Ronald Reagan.
Donald Trump released a “STATEMENT IN RESPONSE TO PRESIDENT OBAMA’S FAILED LEADERSHIP” on his Facebook page shortly after Barack Obama declared Trump unfit to be president and ordered the Republican Party to rescind their endorsement of the 2016 Republican Party nominee.
“Obama-Clinton have single-handedly destabilized the Middle East, handed Iraq, Libya and Syria to ISIS, and allowed our personnel to be slaughtered at Benghazi. Then they put Iran on the path to nuclear weapons. Then they allowed dozens of veterans to die waiting for medical care that never came.
Hillary Clinton put the whole country at risk with her illegal email server, deleted evidence of her crime, and lied repeatedly about her conduct which endangered us all. They released criminal aliens into our country who killed one innocent American after another — like Sarah Root and Kate Steinle — and have repeatedly admitted migrants later implicated in terrorism. They have produced the worst recovery since the Great Depression. They have shipped millions of our best jobs overseas to appease their global special interests. They have betrayed our security and our workers, and Hillary Clinton has proven herself unfit to serve in any government office.
She is reckless with her emails, reckless with regime change, and reckless with American lives. Our nation has been humiliated abroad and compromised by radical Islam brought onto our shores. We need change now.”
Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Ralph Peters this morning on the Varney & Co., Fox Business channel shared his views in response to Barack Obama’s Sunday night from the Oval Office, a speech as noted by the Washington Free Beacon that “was widely panned. Peters, a fierce critic of Obama’s national security policies, was visibly angry as he blasted the speech” of which Peters was “taken aback by Obama’s continued references to Americans not giving into their fears.” (Ditto that…where does Obama get this nonsense?)
TRANSCRIPT (courtesy of Media Matters who for some odd reason just posted the video and transcript. Can’t be because they’re losing their touch.)
STUART VARNEY (HOST): Let’s get right to the president’s speech last night on terrorism, and bring in Lt. Col. Ralph Peters. Alright, Ralph, I have a question for you. I know you watched last night. I want to know, what were you saying to the TV as the president was speaking? What was your commentary as the president’s speech unfolded?
RALPH PETERS: Well, first of all he keeps speaking about “we can’t give in to our fears.” You know, “don’t be afraid.” Look, Mr. President we’re not afraid we’re angry, we’re pissed off, we’re furious. We want you to react, we want you to do something. You’re afraid. I mean this guy is such a total pussy, its stunning. And, you know, we want — we the people, the American people, whom he does not know in any intimate sort of manner, we want action. We want action against Islamic State and then — then, when the president is telling us he is going to destroy ISIS. This is a president who has done more harm to American police departments than he has done to Islamic State. This is a president who restrains our military. He uses it not to defeat ISIS, but for political purposes for political cover. This is a president who doesn’t want to hurt our enemies. This is a president who cares more about thugs in Guantanamo, or thugs in Ferguson, Missouri, than he does about law-abiding American citizens and their right to live in safety and peace.
VARNEY: I can tell you are super angry, and I asked you what your reaction was, but I have got to call you — you can’t use language like that on the program, OK? I’m sorry.
PETERS: I’m sorry.
VARNEY: OK, I accept that. Now, moving on, what was new in the president’s presentation last night? Was there anything — was there anything in his presentation last night which would make a contribution to defeating ISIS, or erasing our fears? Anything?
PETERS: No. I mean, like — with The New York Times, he’s convinced that the problem is gun control, that’s what we’ve got to fix. And the problem is Islamist terror. Now, certainly Stuart, we could use more intelligent approaches to keeping guns out of the hands of psychotics. The Founding Fathers did not intend for every drunk psycho to have a machine gun collection. But law-abiding Americans owning guns is not the problem here. The problem is Islamist terrorism, and the president will not even say “Islamist terrorism.”
VARNEY: Ralph, I’m sorry. I’ve got to interrupt again. You used some very strong language there about the President of the United States, and I’m the anchor of Varney & Co., and I have to ask you either you should apologize for that, or take it back.
PETERS: I apologize. I apologize.
VARNEY: OK, alright. What would you like to have seen the president say last night?
PETERS: I’m not interested in what he says anymore. I want him to do, I want him to act. I want him to take on Islamic State. I want him to unleash our military. And yes, Stuart, I am angry — I do apologize for giving into my anger, but I’m — I feel like you know the American people understand where I’m coming from on this. My choice of words was incorrect, but my sentiment, I think, is shared by many.
VARNEY: OK. Ralph, thank you very much indeed we will see you again very, very soon. Calm down, lad. Calm down.
While some may have worded it differently, Peters said what not just the country but what the whole world thinks. Barack Obama is weak on foreign policy and about the only people that he has the cohunes to come down hard on are Americans who oppose his failed policies and the state of Israel for whom he holds nothing but disdain.
At the same time, Fox has veered so far to the left that they will not make the discussion, a copy of which is far clearer than that which is available on YouTube available on the Fox News website. Cowards!
Dr. Craig Spencer who for a while worked with Doctors without Borders in Guinea tending to those afflicted with the Ebola virus returned to New York City several days ago.
As of Thursday afternoon, Spencer who for the past six days self-monitored and supposedly “self-quarantined” himself keeping an eye out for symptoms of the Ebola virus until this morning when he developed a fever has tested positive for Ebola.
The doctor is presently under care and quarantined at Bellevue Hospital.
According to Governor, Mario Cuomo, Spencer “was only exposed to very few people…” due to precautions the doctor had taken on his own.
Last night New York City’s mayor, Bill de Blasio and Governor Mario Cuomo held a press conference to assured concerned New Yorkers that there is no need for New Yorkers, visitors and tourists to worry.
Not so. In spite of feeling tired for three days traveled Spencer from his Harlem residence by taxi, had dinner at a restaurant, visited an elevated park and two bowling lanes in addition to traveling on three of New York City’s subways lines, i.e., the #1, A and L trains.
While sources said Spencer claimed to have self-quarantined after feeling ill, he was at a pair of bowling spots in Willliamsburgh, Brooklyn on Wednesday. He used Uber taxis, went to the High Line, a restaurant and took the subway — the No. 1, A and L trains — to get around, officials said.
The three subway lines rode by Spencer travel through the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens making numerous connections throughout the City in every direction on a system that attracts 4.3 million riders a day.
De Blasio, at a press conference with by Gov. Andrew Cuomo shortly after the results were released, said that there was no reason for anyone to worry about an outbreak.
‘We want to state at the outset there is no reason for New Yorkers to be alarmed,’ de Blasio said. ‘Ebola is an extremely hard disease to contract. It is transmitted only through contact with an infected person’s blood or bodily fluids, not through casual contact.’
‘He was only exposed to very few people,’ Cuomo said. ‘He was taking precautions on his own…’
I can assure you that not even halfway through the conference, New Yorkers began to worry. After all, de Blasio is the same schmuck who refused to close New York City public schools during a blizzard last winter while at the same time insisting that the streets were cleaned and safe to walk in.
While Spencer is in an isolation unit at Bellevue Hospital, the repercussions of his actions are unfolding.
Although the Uber taxi driver and passengers who entered the vehicle after Spencer are not at risk (according to the CDC), one of the bowling alleys (the Gutter) that Spencer visited is now closed and a scheduled concert canceled.
The Elephant in the Room
Did Spencer complete his tour in Guinea? Or was it ended because he was aware that he might have contracted the virus? Did Spencer prior to showing symptoms suspect that he might have contracted the Ebola virus? Is that the reason for his return to New York City?
Also not mentioned is the fact that Spencer got through the so-called Ebola safeguards at JFK Airport guaranteed to work by many in the Obama administration. FAIL.
Travel bans must be into place for those Ebola-stricken nations and those returning to the United States from those nations must adhere to a 21 or 42 day quarantine – not self-quarantine – QUARANTINE.
Finally, we can now add Mali to the list of Ebola-stricken nations now that a 2 year old girl whose father died of Ebola has contracted the disease.
On a lighter note, be thankful for Twitter.
Case of Ebola hit NYC. Dude went bowling and road the subway and everything. Not good.
If this doctor, who so recklessly flew into New York from West Africa, has Ebola, then Obama should apologize to the American people & resign! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 23, 2014
THIS JUST IN! The Ebola Case and the Axe Attack in New York, compels drastic action by DeBlasio to reduce Slurpee sizes by 50%! We’re Saved! — Ken Wahl (@KenWahl1) October 24, 2014
Now that Ebola’s in New York, it’s only a matter of time until it unionizes, then sues us all for bullying it on Twitter. — Will Antonin (@Will_Antonin) October 24, 2014
Rebel Pundit interviewed a group of Black Americans (male and female) in Chicago the other night after the SOTU. Unhyphenated Americans in the following video take Obama to task for his never-ending rhetoric, blame game, failed policies, dismissal of Black America, i.e., America as a whole.
State of Chicago. State of the Urban Community.
Mind you, Obama represented (or was supposed to) many of these people as a junior senator. He failed them then as well.
Mind you, some of these same people tried to warn Americans about what a failure Obama was to them but Progressives and their media sock puppets made a concerted effort to keep their voices from being heard. Well done Rebel Pundit, well done. H/tThe Right Scoop.
For the last decade, we’ve been hearing how the Bush Tax Cuts are only for the rich. On January 1st, they all expire, but Obama doesn’t want to be like President Hoover and FDR and raise taxes in a recession thus causing a Great Depression. So he’s in favor of keeping them for everyone who isn’t in the top tax bracket. The problem for him is that all tax bills originate in the House, which is controlled by Republicans. The fate of tax rates is ultimately up to them.
If they do not make an agreement and they let the Bush Tax Cuts expire,President Obama will once and for all prove to the world that Bush gave everyone a piece of the action- not just the rich. As well, Obama will once again prove that raising taxes is bad for the economy because it makes everyone poorer. This is the Republican argument. Sure, this will be bad for the economy, but the economy is screwed no matter what.
There are 21 Obamacare taxes coming, there are increases of 12 to 25% for health insurance costs this month, the capital gains tax goes up 60% from 15% to 23.8 percent (expiration of Bush tax cuts and 3.8% Obamacare surcharge), dividend taxes go up nearly 200% from 15% to 43.6% for the highest tax bracket (they go from 15% to ordinary income rate plus a 3.8% Obamacare surcharge), the EPA’s about to implement carbon taxes,….
Whether our politicians walk away and do the right thing remains to be scene but those who do not can rest assure that betraying the will of the people will result in their early retirement.
Everything that Obama has done since the 2009 inauguration has been to the detriment of small businesses, the middle class, the poor and the Black and Latino communities.
Another four years will wreak further devastation on all of the above as Obama and fellow Progressives in collusion with their media puppets continue to spread lies while espousing propaganda to useful idiots.
Those who recognize the deception must remain focused and not become distracted by the diversions and propaganda by Obama and comrades intended to nudge Americans into willingly supporting our own demise and/or that of our children and grandchildren.
…The American left and our ‘objective’ mainstream media — same thing, I know — are not helping the nation balance its budget. As usual, these partisan hacks are obsessed with tearing the Republican coalition apart, limb from limb. By empowering GOP moderates, they drive the conservatives into exile.
These liberals are dishonest but not dumb. They have no intention of honoring a pledge to curtail wasteful spending. What they want is GOP civil war…
…Washington Post reporter Aaron Blake wrote the story on the revolt against Grover Norquist. The Post made its emphasis even more obvious in its free commuter tabloid called Express, which splashed this headline over Blake’s story: ‘Is the GOP Over Grover?’
The same angle screamed from the television. On ABC’s ‘World News,’ anchor Diane Sawyer proclaimed, ‘We did see a sign the paralysis may be ending, a Republican mutiny against a man who had convinced them to take a pledge.’ The graphic on screen read ‘Tax Revolt.’ Only in liberal newsrooms is there such a thing as a ‘tax revolt’ to raise taxes. On ‘CBS This Morning,’ co-host Charlie Rose pushed Sen. Bob Corker to say he would ‘forgo the pledge because it is outdated and the country’s problems are too big….
