The accused Brooklyn Ripper, charged with butchering two young children in an elevator, is now terrifying even hardened staffers on the Bellevue psych ward.
Daniel St. Hubert has been threatening to beat up cops and hospital workers since being taken in for evaluation last week, sources told The Post on Sunday.
‘Any hospital staff that have to deal with him are very nervous around him,’ said a Bellevue source. ‘They are on high alert.
‘He is extremely hostile and accepts no responsibility for anything,’ the source said, adding that his colleagues describe the alleged killer as a ‘menacing brute’ with ‘a bad look in his eyes….’

Concern for the safety of a mad man
Reports that when Daniel St. Hubert is not lashing out at the staff, threatening to beat the daylights out of law enforcement, he is sleeping or gorging on chicken cutlets, spaghetti, and meatballs is not winning St. Hubert, labeled the Brooklyn Ripper any friends.
While St. Hubert who was released on the streets of New York to massacre the innocent, he will remain at Bellevue out of concern for his safety by correction officials due to multiple threats coming out of Rikers Island against him.
On May 23, 2014, St. Hubert who has nine prior arrests was released from Clinton Correctional Facility on probation after serving five years in prison for choking his mother with an electric cord in 2009 and punching a female correction officer.
St. Hubert was declared mentally unfit to stand trial several months before pleading guilty for choking his mother.
Mikayla Capers, 7 (left), was critically wounded and her friend, 6-year-old Prince Joshua Avitto (right), was killed after a knife-wielding man attacked them in a Brooklyn elevator.
On Sunday June 1, 2014, nine days after his release, St. Hubert entered the elevator of a housing project in (the Boulevard Houses) East New York, Brooklyn, New York. Annoyed by the chatter of little children on their way to get ice cream, the hulky mad man ordered the children to shut up and when they failed to do so he became enraged fatally stabbing, 6-year-old Prince Joshua Avitto to death and critically wounding his friend Mikayla Capers, age 7 (pictures above).
Tanya Grant-Copeland (Facebook) stabbed 32 times as she walked home from marching band practice.
St. Hubert is also suspected of murdering (a) two days earlier, 18-year-old Tanaya Grant-Copeland, a Long Island University student and member of a marching band as she returned from practice (photograph above) and (b) in the multiple stabbing of a homeless man named Kyle Moore on a Chelsea train platform in Manhattan.
All of the victims were stabbed repeatedly with a steak knife. Grant-Copeland who aspired to be a nurse was stabbed 32 times.
Seven year old, Mikayla, who was stabbed 16 times is still in the hospital recovering from her wounds, mentally and physically and as for Little Joshua called PJ by family and friends, well he was laid to rest Friday morning. A crowd of 1000 mourners attended the send off.
Everyone has their own way of dealing with their grief, as is the case with PJ’s father, Nicholas Avitto, who has every morning since the death his son’s death thrown PJ’s backpack across his shoulder and embarked upon a symbolic walk to his son’s school, i.e., a morning ritual for father and son.

… ‘With the backpack on my back, I just walked to the school,’ the heartbroken dad said. ‘I talked to him. I acted like he was there.’
Avitto, 56, said he was not ready to let his P.J. go.
‘God gave me a blessing,’ he said. ‘I had him at 50. He was born on Father’s Day. I will remember his smile, his arrogance, his stubborn little ways. He’d say, ‘Daddy, you all right!’’
Pausing for a moment, Avitto said, ‘I’m just so hurt….’

A walking time bomb.
In all, it took Daniel St. Hubert, a paranoid schizophrenic, seven days after being released to prey upon unsuspecting New Yorkers without medication and psychiatric referral to blow a fuse. St. Hubert’s parole officer Roxanne Marie, now gagged by her superiors informed higher ups that St. Hubert was insane and should be institutionalized.

…Marie was so concerned at the first face-to-face meeting with him that she ordered a strict regimen of counseling and curfews, according to a police source.….
St. Hubert missed counseling sessions and his third and fourth probation appointments, which leads one to believe that besides being evil, he sees things a lot clearer than possibly given credit.
Sister, Judith Perry pleaded for assistance from officials before and after the release of her mentally ill brother.
‘I spoke to the social worker in regards to his mental capacity and when will he be able to see a doctor. They told me it doesn’t happen right away. It usually takes a couple of weeks. Usually they’re discharged with medication….’
When the 27-year-old suspect was busted Wednesday near his mom’s house in Queens after a citywide manhunt, he was vandalizing a stop sign. The graffiti spoke volumes about his twisted state of mind.
It read: $ KILL ZZ/I/WILL/BK.
It was punctuated with a smiley face with a winking left eye….
Taking into account the history of Donald St. Hubert and the fear of hardcore staffers in Bellevue’s psych ward, my heart aches for the fear one so evil instilled in the hearts of his victims. The system failed the victims and their families.
