“Drain the swamp.” Just do it!
Progressives are digging themselves in deep as in keep digging that hole, man, keep digging that hole.
In one of the latest instances is Ryan Lenz, senior editor of the Southern Poverty Law Center who is now claiming that the phrase “drain the swamp” is racist because so-called white nationalists aka also labeled the “alt-right” now use the term.
See video below:
“So we have a little bit of a two-sided message here. Yeah, he’s saying stop, but he’s also, you know, giving a wink-wink, nod-nod to the very people he’s asking to step away from their violence.”
CNN’s John Berman pushed back with, “We should note, different phrases can mean different things to different people.”
Really Berman? Is that the best you could do? Grow a set, buddy. Berman should have leaned harder on this SPLC propagandist over bogus claims made and the obvious double standard that SPLC is applying here.
Where was the SPLC in 2007 when Nancy Pelosi said:
“…Today, we will shine a bright light on the linkage between lobbyists and legislators, with legislation that requires an unprecedented level of disclosure.
And in so doing, we keep our promise to drain the swamp that is Washington, D.C., to let sunshine disinfect the Congress. We have promised the highest ethical standard, and we will deliver it, in an open and honest government.”

Of course, then Speaker Pelosi and U. S. Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, went on to infest the swamp even further while covering up endless scandals. Lobby reform only meant reformation on paper, soundbites and in name only because what followed was the doubling down of an already infested swamp.
The SPLC had no objection to Pelosi’s use of the phrase in 2007 nor did they object when former 2016 Republican Party primary candidate, Dr. Ben Carson used the phrase in an ad last year. See video below:
In his message to the nation Monday night via YouTube, President-Elect, Donald J. Trump, Trump laid out a few of his plans for the first 100 days, one of which was ethic reform (02:05 of video below).
As part of our plan to drain the swamp, we will impose a five-year ban on executive officials becoming lobbyists after they leave the administration — and a lifetime ban on executive officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.
Nothing racist there which leads me to suspect that the 24/7 parsing of the President-Elect’s every word, linking him to so-called white nationalists who like them or not are entitled to free speech and to support the candidate of choice, I accuse Progressives of deflecting as Hillary Clinton did the past 16 months[i].
Finally, Progressives have prospered and skated along for decades by accusing others of racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, etc. They won elections by labeling and silencing their opposition which such terms and so we now have the “alt-right.” [See Vassar Bushmill’s, “Right and Alt-Right (a worthy read).”
The 2016 election may very well be the first election in which Progressives lost an election partly based on the very labels and attacks that they refuse to give up on.
While Progressives are wholly invested in the ditch that they continue to dig for others and into which they themselves have fallen, the voters are no longer listening.
Case in point: Everyone in my family except moi are card carrying Democrats and while they did not vote in the 2016 presidential election, by the fourth week of October, they and their friends were themselves using the phrase, “drain the swamp.”
Finally, while many neo-Nazis and KKK members are Democrats and some not, my son and his Democratic buddies are neither.
======================
[i] Voters should remain vigilant. Keep an eye on the man (George Soros) behind the curtain-
(a) Hillary Clinton conceded, but did she?
(b) Votes are still being counted or stuffed
(c) Democratic electors are staging a coup (in the works) for next month’s Electoral College votes while their comrades in the media, Congress and Senate distract the nation will allegations of racism, homophobia, Islamophobia, etc.
(d) At the same, time during a telephone conference this week, the Clinton campaign is being urged to demand a recount in some states, of which ballots continue to be counted.
