Progressive and former civil rights leader, Rep. John Lewis in an interview with Chuck Todd, strategically timed to air the day before Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday announced that he would not be attending Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration because Lewis “a forgiving man” did not consider Trump a legitimate president.
CHUCK TODD: You have forged relationships with many presidents. Do you plan on trying to forge a relationship with Donald Trump?
REP. JOHN LEWIS: You know, I believe in forgiveness. I believe in trying to work with people. It will be hard. It’s going to be very difficult. I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president….I don’t plan to attend the inauguration. It will be the first one that I miss since I’ve been in Congress. You cannot be at home with something that you feel that is wrong….”
Obviously, pre-scripted by Progressives and their media spin machine, the intent of which was to make news while at the same time baiting the president-elect into a response that would spark outrage and fundamentally transform John Lewis into a victim.
Unexpected, was Lewis putting his foot in him mouth when he stated that this would be the first presidential inauguration that he will not attend.
I am hard put to say that Lewis who has for five decades skirted on his role in the Civil Rights movement forgot that he did not attend G. W. Bush’s presidential inauguration. Why? Because Lewis did not consider GWB a legitimate president. Starting to see a pattern here?
Lewis who was elected to Congress in 1986, attended George H. W. Bush’s presidential inauguration in 1988.
Progressives such as Lewis, his peers in the Congressional Black Caucus and foot soldiers in the grievance industry have for decades levied the most asinine and bigoted claims against Republicans and were rarely challenged.
For the past eight years, white Americans, among them Republican politicians were denigrated, guilt tripped and their psych pummeled into the ground by the Obama administration, Communists, media propagandists, professors of Marxist universities and the snowflakes they churn out for some silly notion of white privilege.
Having gotten away with it for so long, they went about business as usual levying ugly allegations against Donald Trump expecting the president-elect to fold as so many others have.
But it’s a new day and Trump who is not a bigot defended himself shocking Progressives and their propaganda machines. Moreover, aware that Lewis lied (my emphasis) tweeted the following:

One final word on the white guilt card.
There are calls from different corners that Trump must apologize to Lewis. That would be a mistake. If Trump were to apologize, the bigoted hatemongers on the left would (a) use the apology as a fundraising tool and (b) dedicate the next four to eight years reminding America that they made a white President apologize.
It’s a disgusting ploy but that is the mindset of and how these nasty race mongers play the game. Our president-elect whom we all know is not a bigot must not fold.
Righteous indignation…NOT!
Lewis’ statement was supposed to be an honorable move by a soldier of the Civil Rights era but let’s be honest, Lewis’ street creds ended decades ago when he sold out the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., the Civil Rights movement and Black America to the Democratic Party, historically and until this day the oppressors of Black America.
I was a teenager when about a year or two after the assassination of MLK, Jr., so-called Black leaders were sent into Black communities with the message that Black families did not have to work because the government would take care of them. The discussion was framed in the form of Reparations aka getting paid back aka the Big Payback. It went like this:
It’s time for Black people to get paid after working in those fields for so long.
It’s time to get paid back after being the white man’s slave for so long.
To Black mothers: You don’t have to stay with the Black man anymore. The government will take care of you….Are you tired of working? … Haven’t you worked long enough?
To Black working families: You don’t have to work for the white man anymore. Stay home let the government take care of you.
While some jumped on the bandwagon right away, many in the Black community were not buying this new message. I remember the discussions that my mother and my aunts had after the community meetings. They felt that if MLK, Jr. were alive, he would not approve of the message being pushed by post-MLK era Black leaders.
These so-called leaders kept beating the drum and before long, the numbers of one parent families in Black community began to rise as Black fathers disappeared from the homes and from their children’s lives.
Black civil rights leaders had switched over to the dark side taking Black America with them. It is at this point that the Black family, the Black community began to crumble. Fatherless homes once frowned upon became acceptable.
THIS is the LEGACY of JOHN LEWIS and fellow members of the Congressional Black Caucus, those who marched with Dr. King and those who came later, i.e., the sale of Black America for their own gains but don’t take my word for it.

Progressives can stage all types of protests even riots and sign until they’re blue in the face, “We shall overcome” but the facts remain that they continue to be the oppressors of Black people and are now attempting to enslave the nation as a whole.
From John Lewis to James Clyburn to Elijah Cummings to Maxine Waters to Barack Obama to Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson all have sold their souls and that of their constituents to their Commie elitists masters.
