The Iran Deal Was Betrayed by Its Own Abysmal Record

Iran nuclear arms deal, Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), U. S. withdrawal

The following op-ed was written earlier this week by John Bolton when President Donald J. Trump withdrew the United States from JCPOA.

WhiteHouse.gov by John Bolton, National Security Adviser

On Tuesday, President Trump announced his decision to withdraw from the failed Iran nuclear deal. The president has famously referred to it as “the worst deal in history.” Its very premise has been betrayed by its own abysmal track record over the past two years.

The theory behind the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA, was that the Iranian regime would, in the interests of its own people, trade its nuclear ambitions for economic incentives. But rather than focusing on behaving responsibly, Tehran has poured billions of dollars into military adventures abroad, spreading an arc of death and destruction across the Middle East from Yemen to Syria. Meanwhile, the Iranian people have suffered at home from a tanking currency, rising inflation, stagnant wages and a spiraling environmental crisis.

President Trump acted prudently. He spent more than a year studying the deal, soliciting information and assessments from within his administration, and consulting with our allies. He decided that this deal actually undermines the security of the American people he swore to protect and, accordingly, ended U.S. participation in it. This action reversed an ill-advised and dangerous policy and set us on a new course that will address the aggressive and hostile behavior of our enemies, while enhancing our ties with partners and allies.

The president’s December recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital illustrates the latter policy; it will come to fruition Monday with the U.S. Embassy’s official opening in the Holy City. While some believe that Israel is an irritant that upsets the natural balance of power in the Middle East and that Israel’s influence should be constrained, this president sees the enormous benefits the United States has reaped from our sustained relationship with Israel, as well as the opportunity to leverage this investment into greater cooperation to the benefit of both nations[…]

While we are now learning that the United States paid a ransom to get our prisoners back, I have no doubt that Barack Obama would prefer to label it the “redistribution of wealth.”
Independent Sentinel by S. Noble

The U.S. Treasury Department wired the money to Iran around the same time its theocratic government allowed three American prisoners to fly out of Tehran on Sunday aboard a Dassault Falcon jet owned by the Swiss air force. The prisoner swap also involved freedom for two other Americans held in Iran as well as for seven Iranians charged or convicted by the U.S. and another 21 under investigation.

“Based on an approval of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and the overall interests of the Islamic Republic, four Iranian prisoners with dual-nationality were freed today within the framework of a prisoner swap deal,” the office of the Tehran prosecutor said.

Brigadier General Hassan Naqdi, the head of the Iranian regime’s notorious Basij militia, claimed on Wednesday that Iran had received $1.7 billion from the U.S. in exchange for the release of imprisoned Americans.

Immediately after, an American student from the University of Virginia was arrested in North Korea […]

Go figure, North Korea is never one to be left out. Kim Jong-un wants some of the action as well.

Looks like the Marxist architect of Obamacare also had a major say in putting forth the Iran Deal. Robert Creamer was convicted in 2005 for tax violations and bank fraud. He served time and was under house arrest. While in prison, he crafted the core underpinnings of Obamacare. Creamer is a political consultant who is very close to Barack Obama and is married to Jan Schakowsky, the Marxist Congresswoman from Illinois.

While on the inside, he wrote, Listen to Your Mother: Stand Up Straight! How Progressives Can Win. Obamacare was only the first major step in a radical Marxist battle plan. Next came Amnesty for illegal aliens, which is ongoing. Yeah, that’s right… Creamer was behind that too…His latest abhorrent push is for the Iran deal[…]

Securing Barack Obama’s legacy through lie after lie after lie knowing that in the long run, such a deal will result in chaos in the Middle East and eventually on U. S. soil.

“…I will begin by saying what everybody would like to ignore or forget but which must nevertheless be stated, namely, that we have sustained a total and unmitigated defeat, and that France has suffered even more than we have….” Winston Churchill, October 5 1938, House of Commons.

Seventy-five years ago, October 3, 1938:

“… it was essential that we should quickly reach a conclusion, so that this painful and difficult operation of transfer might be carried out at the earliest possible moment and concluded as soon as was consistent, with orderly procedure, in order that we might avoid the possibility of something that might have rendered all our attempts at peaceful solution useless…

Less than 24 hours ago, Obama the monarch, attempted to spike the ball another he announced that a deal had been negotiated with Iran to rein in its nuclear program in exchange for limited sanction relief [some of which was relieved months ago – my emphasis] as six countries the world’s superpowers appears to have successfully negotiated the accord in Geneva, Switzerland.  At the negotiation table besides Iran was the United States, France, Germany, Britain, China and Russia.

In a moment clearly intended to spike the ball, Obama proclaimed that “substantial limitations that will help prevent Iran from creating a nuclear weapon…but I have a profound responsibility to try to resolve our differences peacefully rather than rush towards conflict…”
