Unified Patriots by Vassarbushmills

If you stop to consider the profile of James Hodgkison there is more there there than first imagined. I’m sure when the media covered the various Occupy events in 2011-2012, no one noticed the few 50+ to 60+ year old men wedged in between all the snowflakes and sonnenkinder. He was not crazy, any more than an Islamic suicide bomber is crazy. But he did decide, as the Cheyenne would say, it was a “good day to die” leaving himself open to return fire, and no avenue of retreat. He used a 1950’s era Soviet/Chinese mainline infantry assault weapon, designed to hit a target from 100-200 yards, yet tried to gun down men from around a hundred feet. From longer range, better concealment and some target training, he could have squeezed off one-two rounds in less than ten seconds, hit two targets, disposed of the gun, and walked to his van, and been back in a YMCA taking a shower before local police could have cordoned off the area. He could have, as the training manual reads, “lived to fight another day.”

Unless an autopsy shows he was dying of cancer, we may never know why he chose to die so stupidly. But we are all thankful that he was such a lousy shot.

Still, he sent a clear signal about who the Left has placed its bounty on. And maybe even more importantly, who it has not.

When it was revealed that Hodgkison carried a target list in his pocket listing only GOP Liberty Caucus members, it made Speaker Paul Ryan’s words about family morph into something less universal, since he and his leadership weren’t targets after all. In certain circles that’s a big deal[…]

Make No Mistake @GOP If #NeverTrump Pulls Off A 1st Ballot Coup; Its #WAAR

The #NeverTrumpsters are at this moment finalizing plans for a coup at next month’s RNC thereby thwarting the will of the voters. Let the establishment be warned: Do so at your own peril.

Unifited Patriots by Jaded By Politics

battle of fort donelson by kurz and allison source wikipedia public domain RESIZED

There has been chatter and noise from the Establishment GOP who think they can use the PACs for Cruz, Rubio, and other assorted losers this primary cycle to undermine the will of the voters at the convention. I voted Cruz, almost all at this site voted Cruz. He lost. Period. Being a sore loser isn’t going to endear you to the conservatives. If you are angry, tough. We were angry in 2008 and 2012 – no more liking McCain and Romney, than the GOP-E likes Trump now – but the power brokers begged us to vote for McCain and Romney, and once again, we did what the party asked. We voted and we walked districts, and we donated our hard-earned dollars, and we phone banked until we were sick of being hung up on.

We marketed candidates we literally could not stand, but we did it because it was the only hope we had of stopping Obama. McCain and Romney both failed. Maybe it turns out the power brokers were wrong, or maybe they wanted the gravy train to continue, so winning didn’t matter to them. It doesn’t matter now. What does matter is that a small group of rich, pathetic hateful little whiners of #NeverTrump, and their foolish followers, (Cruz isn’t going on the 2nd ballot – the GOP hates him more than they hate you) decided they cannot abide by the decision of the people.

Let this be a call to arms of the Americans who did vote for Trump in the primary and those 86% of Republicans who will now vote for him in the general election. If the #NeverTrump crew do manage a coup, we will actively GOTV on behalf of any competitor to an “R” in our district. You think Hillary is fine for four years? Then you accept that a Democrat controlled Congress and Senate are fine too. You cannot have it both ways. If this country is to die, it will die on the hill of the Democrats – not on a pathetic group of people in the Republican Party who cannot stop Obama and his unconstitutional actions. It will be a civil war and #NeverTrump will have fired the first shot. You think this is a game? You think we have fought for years for a change in the progressive push by Democrats and Republicans in this country to watch the country club Republicans stab us in the back again? This is no game and you will lose. Barbara Comstock, a lovely Republican, a John Boehner Republican, will be the person to whom I personally will GOTV against in District 10 of Virginia. I’ve notified her office, and I’ve notified the NRCC exactly of what I intend to do – I encourage you to do the same.

EXCLUSIVE – #NeverTrump Convention Rebels: We Don’t Need A Rule Change To Stop Trump

Who Are The Rebels?

The anti-Trump rebels include supporters of different losing Republican primary candidates, but the main operatives behind the rebellion are all linked to the man who tried to broker the convention a couple months ago by manipulating delegate elections in various states: Ted Cruz. Cruz suspended his campaign after the Indiana primary in early May but he still showed up to the Kentucky Derby’s “Millionaire’s Row” ahead of the Kentucky primary, where he came in a close second[…]

Coriolanus, Act V, Scene III. Engraved by James Caldwell from a painting by Gavin Hamilton Wikipedia public domain

It must be my week for posts about Trump….

Ross Douthat has written a piece for the New York Times: “The Party Still Decides” (HT LRC).

Calling on Lenin

From Ross:

POLITICAL parties are mentioned nowhere in the Constitution….

You would think this would end the conversation – well, in some countries maybe. Not in banana republics.

What did some of the founding fathers (for lack of a better term) think about political parties?

There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.

JOHN ADAMS

However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.

GEORGE WASHINGTON

Well, there is the “con” side of the argument. Will anyone speak for the “pro”?

A party is the vanguard of a class, and its duty is to lead the masses and not merely to reflect the average political level of the masses.

VLADIMIR LENIN

OK then.

Back to Ross:

…there will be a lot of talk about how all these rules and quirks and complexities are just a way for insiders to steal the nomination away from him…

Well, they have already said they are planning to do this, so…yeah…I guess we can talk about it.

We can expect to hear this case from Trump’s growing host of thralls and acolytes. (Ben Carson, come on down!)

Are Rubio’s supporters described as “thralls and acolytes”?

But we will also hear it from the officially neutral press, where there will be much brow-furrowed concern over the perils of party resistance to Trump’s progress….

Finally, an open admission from a writer at the Times – as we will NOT hear this from the Times, there is no reason to continue pretending that this fish-wrap is “officially neutral.”

Murder, He Wrote

Ross goes on to predict (or suggest?) Trump’s fate:

Shakespeare’s Coriolanus, for one:

Coriolanus is the name given to a Roman general after his more than adequate military success against various uprisings challenging the government of Rome. Following this success, Coriolanus becomes active in politics and seeks political leadership. His temperament is unsuited for popular leadership and he is quickly deposed, whereupon he aligns himself to set matters straight according to his own will. The alliances he forges to accomplish his own will result in his ultimate downfall and death.

He is murdered for his supposed betrayal of Rome.

George Wallace for another:

He was a U.S. Presidential candidate for four consecutive elections, in which he sought the Democratic Party nomination in 1964, 1972, and 1976, and was the American Independent Party candidate in the 1968 presidential election. He remains the last third party candidate to receive a state’s electoral college votes.

A 1972 assassination attempt left Wallace paralyzed, and he used a wheelchair for the remainder of his life.

Huey Long for a third:

Huey Pierce Long, Jr. (August 30, 1893 – September 10, 1935), nicknamed The Kingfish, was an American politician who served as the 40th Governor of Louisiana from 1928 to 1932 and as a member of the United States Senate from 1932 until his assassination in 1935.

One fictional character, two flesh-and-blood humans; this pretty much covers everything that is Trump – and about in the right ratio.

An Adolf by Any Other Name…

To add insult to assassination, Ross throws in a Hitler comparison – not directly, because that would not be “neutral.” Instead, he offers Sinclair Lewis’s Buzz Windrip:

…the novel describes the rise of Berzelius “Buzz” Windrip, a populist United States Senator who is elected to the presidency after promising drastic economic and social reforms while promoting a return to patriotism and traditional values. After his election, Windrip takes complete control of the government and imposes a plutocratic/totalitarian rule with the help of a ruthless paramilitary force, in the manner of Adolf Hitler and the SS.

Conclusion

You have to be a pretty good writer to draw on the politics of Lenin, call three times for an assassination attempt, and make a Hitler comparison – all without saying so directly even once.

Carly Fiorina Calls out Establishment of Both Parties for Expressing “Horror” at the Choice of Voters.

On Friday night, former 2016 Republican Party presidential primary candidate, Carly Fiorina let the establishment of both parties have it with both barrels.

Fiorina called out Progressives and the mainstream for pushing the meme that it is Hillary turn after which she nailed the GOP establishment for their vote for whom we tell you meme.

Compounding the insult is the nerve of the GOP establishment to express “horror” over the preference of voters.

Breitbart News by Alex Swoyer

At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) near Washington D.C. hosted by the American Conservative Union, Fiorina lit into the establishment for expressing “horror” at the choice of the voters.

‘The Democrat establishment, aided and abetted by the media establishment, decided that it is now Hillary’s turn,’ Fiorina said of the Democrats. ‘At last year’s CPAC, many in the media called me ‘mean’ because I said, ‘Flying is an activity, not an accomplishment. Mrs. Clinton, please name an accomplishment.’’

She then turned to her own party.

The Republican establishment thought it too knew just what to do after the 2012 election. First, they decided, we needed comprehensive immigration reform. Then, we needed to talk less about ‘the social issues’. And there were too many candidates in the 2012 primaries….

Betraying Pledge and Voters, Mitch McConnell, GOP will help Hillary win if Trump Nominated

Drawing a line in the sand, Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell is hatching a scheme that should Donald Trump become the 2016 Republican Party nominee, the Republican Party will sacrifice the 2016 Presidential election to Hillary Clinton.

McConnell’s nefarious scheme which by the way is a blatant violation of the Republican Party pledge, has nothing to do with saving the Constitution which the Senator Majority Leader and leadership despises or acting in the interest of the nation.

The scheme, hatched a Progressive elitists is solely intended to secure the power structure of the Republican Party establishment, its power brokers, lobbyists and donors, all of which threatens to crumble under a Trump presidency.

As reported in an article by The New York Times (a must read), Karl Mr. Chalkboard Rove, pointed out at governor’s luncheon nine days ago in Washington, D.C. that it is not too late to take Trump out.

As Trump moves closer to becoming the nominee, the treachery deepens.

….Mr. Rove, the master strategist of George W. Bush’s campaigns, insisted it was not too late for them to stop Mr. Trump, according to three people present.

At a meeting of Republican governors the next morning, Paul R. LePage of Maine called for action. Seated at a long boardroom table at the Willard Hotel, he erupted in frustration over the state of the 2016 race, saying Mr. Trump’s nomination would deeply wound the Republican Party. Mr. LePage urged the governors to draft an open letter “to the people,” disavowing Mr. Trump and his divisive brand of politics….

Scratch that proposal.

In the meantime, with the wind at his back, voters by his side and Super Tuesday on the horizon, Trump has gone on to win New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada invoking fear in the hearts of establishment fat cats such as Mitch McConnell who is now declaring all out war against the anti-establishment candidate.

New York Times

In public, there were calls for the party to unite behind a single candidate. In dozens of interviews, elected officials, political strategists and donors described a frantic, last-ditch campaign to block Mr. Trump — and the agonizing reasons that many of them have become convinced it will fail. Behind the scenes, a desperate mission to save the party sputtered and stalled at every turn….

There you have it. While there are calls for the Republicans to unite behind one candidate, the leadership believes that the power to choose the candidate does not lie with the people.

For McConnell and cohorts, none of this is about saving the future of the nation; it is about saving the party, the lifestyle and power structure of fellow elitists who have long forgotten that they were elected by the people to represent our interests.

…Efforts to unite warring candidates behind one failed spectacularly: An overture from Senator Marco Rubio to Mr. Christie angered and insulted the governor. An unsubtle appeal from Mitt Romney to John Kasich, about the party’s need to consolidate behind one rival to Mr. Trump, fell on deaf ears….

Are you kidding, the GOP establishment actually expected that a call from Marco Rubio to Chris Christie would bring Christie running like up lapdog into the fold?

Condescending, out of touch and everything that disgusts Americans with the Republican Party establishment!

….At least two campaigns have drafted plans to overtake Mr. Trump in a brokered convention, and the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, has laid out a plan that would have lawmakers break with Mr. Trump explicitly in a general election….

Moreover, this too shall fail along with along with any attempts by Senator Ted Cruz to collaborate with the establishment in the take down of Donald Trump.  Oh wait, Cruz did so already on Thursday night when he and Marco Rubio double-teamed Donald Trump.

Message to Cruz: Suicide is fatal but then this is not about Cruz becoming the nominee either.

…While still hopeful that Mr. Rubio might prevail, Mr. McConnell has begun preparing senators for the prospect of a Trump nomination, assuring them that, if it threatened to harm them in the general election, they could run negative ads about Mr. Trump to create space between him and Republican senators seeking re-election. Mr. McConnell has raised the possibility of treating Mr. Trump’s loss as a given and describing a Republican Senate to voters as a necessary check on a President Hillary Clinton, according to senators at the lunches….

The Republican Party establishment is no longer hiding the fact that they are in bed with the left.

…Despite all the forces arrayed against Mr. Trump, the interviews show, the party has been gripped by a nearly incapacitating leadership vacuum and a paralytic sense of indecision and despair, as he has won smashing victories in South Carolina and Nevada. Donors have dreaded the consequences of clashing with Mr. Trump directly. Elected officials have balked at attacking him out of concern that they might unintentionally fuel his populist revolt. And Republicans have lacked someone from outside the presidential race who could help set the terms of debate from afar….

Surely, it does not help that Governors Chris Christie of New Jersey, Jan Brewer of Arizona and Maine’s Governor Paul LePage, who just nine days ago trashed Trump has endorsed the candidate.

As for Mitch McConnell’s collaboration with Progressive counterparts on both sides of the aisle, McConnell along with John Boehner and other members of the GOP leadership spent the past eight years working with Barack Obama building the platform that is bringing about the infringement of our liberties and fundamental transformation of America.

It, therefore, makes perfect sense that the GOP leadership would double down on their efforts by conspiring with Hillary Clinton to take the White House in 2016 against Donald Trump, Ted Cruz (yes, Ted Cruz) and the American people.

Finally, the Progressive establishments of both parties, including Trump’s opponents and their supporters have boarded the collective bandwagon (how distasteful) to demand that Trump disavow David Duke’s endorsement.

For the record and while Trump has disavowed Duke’s endorsement, where were those voices back in 2011 when Duke of whom I am not a fan joined Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Bernie Sanders in support of Occupy Wall Street?

I am talking specifically referring to the Occupy Wall Street camp in Zuccotti Park, NYC.

The same OWS camp who told Blacks and Jews that they were not welcome in Zuccotti Park.

The same OWS camp that exiled Blacks from the park ordering them to go Occupy Newark?

The same OWS camp (among others) that unleashed endless attacks against Jews working in lower Manhattan.

Are people so busy attacking Trump that it has gone over their heads that Duke’s endorsement may have been another establishment ruse, i.e., throw everything at Donald Trump including the kitchen sink and hope it sticks? Something to think about.

H/t BizPac Review.
