~ “I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts.” Ronald Reagan.
WARNING PAMPHLETS were dropped on ISIS targets 45 minutes before a bombing sortie on an oil line. Obama and his pawns in CENTCOM want to limit harm to civilians because they don’t think ISIS drive the trucks. That’s what they did on their first bombing of an oil line. It took them over a year to get to this point.
Russia and France bombing oil lines forced him into doing something. The US is barely bombing ISIS targets in general.
The warning leaflets were dropped before hitting a convoy of ISIS – some pickup trucks and tankers. While Obama is playing games, ISIS is destroying peoples’ lives.
When you read what the leaflets said, you will think it’s satire.
The leaflets read: “Get out of your trucks now and run away from them.”
This is just as bad as the news that surfaced a while back that our military was bombing certain factories and other areas only after the jihadists went home for the night. In so doing, casualties would be less, if at all.
ABOVE PHOTOGRAPH – Top image: sinkhole per Google Earth; Bottom image: sinkhole after residents transformed it into fishing hole. In the meantime, the city of Detroit says repairing the sinkhole is not their responsibility and is pointing the finger at the utility company.
Residents in a Detroit neighborhood were shocked when a sinkhole opened up on their street — so they turned it into a fishing hole.
Locals claim the hole first appeared on Hull Street and McNichols about four years ago and, after getting frustrated as authorities failed to fix it, they decided to turn it into something they could enjoy instead.
They started by putting blue gill, goldfish and carp into the sinkhole….
The city of Detroit, another failed social engineering project, because of all the crooked politicians, the fact that the city is broke and the fact that the sinkhole is located in a poverty-stricken community will not even consider repairing the sinkhole.
The odds are that the city feels that since they are barely collecting any property taxes if at all from that area, it is not worth the effort.
At the same time, a huge sinkhole opened up three weeks ago in the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn. I suggest the City close it up immediately before we learn that it is actually a tunnel from Mexico. That would undoubtedly explain mass insurgence of illegals in that area of Brooklyn from the southwestern part of the continent and below.
Last night, Bill O’Reilly of Fox News grilled former Secretary of Defense and CIA chief, Leon Panetta on the rise of ISIS, Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Crimea and the Ukraine, Obama the weak, the Benghazi Islamic terror attack.
O’Reilly also queried Panetta about his time serving under both Clinton and Obama in addition to his underlying concern about the current state of the nation and direction in which America is heading.
Enter Charles Krauthammer who critiques the interview and Obama.
Finally, Megyn Kelly and Dana Perino discuss the O’Reilly-Panetta interview.
Everyone agrees that under Obama, America is screwed.
“We shall not rest until that war is won…” That of course would mean that Lyndon Johnson whose war on poverty is a colossal disaster must be doing back flips in his grave “from the courthouse to the White House.”
Greg Gutfeld pointed out on “The Five” today that the U.S. census counts a family as poor, but excludes any income or benefits they receive from the government, thus ensuring that those programs will grow while poverty statistics remain unchanged.
“It’s not a war on poverty, it’s a zombie that you can’t kill,” he said. “Stop throwing money at it. This is crazy.”
According to the U.S. Census Bureau 14.5% of the population in the USA (45.3 million Americans) were living at or below the poverty level in 2013. In addition, the number of children living in poverty decreased by 1.4 million, to 14.7 million.
Census officials said that income inequality did not change in a statistically significant way from 2012 to 2013. However, they said, inequality has increased substantially in the last two decades, and the most common measure of household income inequality, known as the Gini index, is up 4.9 percent since 1993….
About the U. S. Census Bureau’s report on poverty, Greg Gutfeld is dead on point. Poverty, as defined in today’s America is far different from the definition of poverty, fifty years ago because our bureaucrats are continually moving the goalpost.
Since its beginning, U.S. taxpayers have spent $22 trillion on Johnson’s War on Poverty (in constant 2012 dollars). Adjusting for inflation, that’s three times more than was spent on all military wars since the American Revolution.
The federal government currently runs more than 80 means-tested welfare programs. These programs provide cash, food, housing and medical care to low-income Americans. Federal and state spending on these programs last year was $943 billion. (These figures do not include Social Security, Medicare, or Unemployment Insurance.)
…Census counts a family as poor if its income falls below specified thresholds. But in counting family “income,” Census ignores nearly the entire $943 billion welfare state….
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – How’s this for a very dumb idea? The Delaware Elementary School in Syracuse has been a miserable failure academically. The state wants to close it, or see dramatic changes in short order, according to a post on Syracuse.com . Amazingly, one of the solutions being discussed is allowing the local teachers union to run the school. Have these people lost their minds? The presence of organized labor is undoubtedly one of the reasons that the school is failing in the first place. A lot of teachers are obviously under performing, but many are protected by tenure and […]
BUFFALO, N.Y. – New York college students pursuing a career in education will be required to take a “bar exam” to obtain their state teaching certification starting May 1, but education officials are considering conditional certifications for those who fail, as well. Teaching students graduating from New York colleges after May 1 will be required to submit video and written evidence of their ability to lead a classroom in order to obtain a teaching certificate from the state, the Associated Press reports. “The state Education Department estimates that about 83 percent of the first 1,600 to take the test […]
While the teachers’ union increases its membership, collects additional dues, our children will suffer but not to worry. After all, it is really about the children. NOT!
