~ “I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts.” Ronald Reagan.
This is what happens when you treat children as human beings instead of human capital. You listen and attend to their needs instead of complying with the educational elites.
The Wall Street Journal had an article yesterday about L’Arche, a global community of people with mental disabilities and their nondisabled peers who live together as equals. From The Gift of Living With the Not Gifted:
All the grunting, screams and chatter meld to form an uncommon orchestra as more residents gather to eat. Then we hold hands and sing: “Bless the Lord, you, God’s servants, / All of you who live in God’s house, / Lift up your hands to the Holy Lord / Proclaim God’s greatness and the power of God’s name. Amen.”
Eating at a L’Arche house can be discomfiting if you’re a stickler for table manners. There is much spitting, spilling and gurgling. But gradually the discomfort melts away, and the residents draw you into their world, unhindered by politeness or social rank. That’s the point of the place: to understand what it means to be human in all its imperfect forms, and to mark human dignity where it is least physically obvious.
What an Easter affirmation to read and ponder on this day! What a contrast to the messages we hear every day in education reform. The proponents’ claim for the need of Common Core is for the quest for ‘equity of outcome’, all while the reformers ignore […]
Seniors have already begun receiving notices that Medicare Advantage programs are dropping their doctors from their lists of providers, according to Dan Weber, a noted advocate for the elderly.
“The doctors they trust are no longer available to them as a direct result of Obamacare, which is dipping into Medicare funding to the tune of $717 billion in order to provide things like contraceptives and abortion pills in new healthcare plans created to comply with the Affordable Care Act,” Weber, who is president of the Association of Mature American Citizens, explained.
Connecticut’s Fairfield and Hartford County Medical Associations quickly filed a lawsuit and won a temporary injunction to stop UnitedHealthcare from dropping doctors. But, the insurer responded by saying it will continue to delist MDs from their rolls, claiming the injunction applies only to doctors who are members of the two associations. UnitedHealthcare, one of the nation’s largest Medicare Advantage insurers, and other coverage providers are being pressured by Obamacare provisions to offer broad coverage to the uninsured with less money….
…And I will — I will never turn Medicare into a voucher. No American should ever have to spend their golden years at the mercy of insurance companies. They should retire with the care and the dignity they have earned. Yes, we will reform and strengthen Medicare for the long haul, but we’ll do it by reducing the cost of health care, not by asking seniors to pay thousands of dollars more. And we will keep the promise of Social Security by taking the responsible steps to strengthen it, not by turning it over to Wall Street. ‘
In his convention speech in Charlotte, President Obama vowed to block the Republican Medicare reform plan because “no American should ever have to spend their golden years at the mercy of insurance companies.”But back in Washington, his Health and Human Services Department is launching a pilot program that would shift up to 2 million of the poorest and most-vulnerable seniors out of the federal Medicare program and into private health insurance plans overseen by the states….
You can bet if Obama’s mouth is moving, Obama is lying but what is ironic is that less than one day after lying to America by stating that he would “never turn Medicare into a voucher” and that “No American should ever have to spend their golden years at the mercy of insurance companies,” Americans learn that a program to do just that has been in the works for some time now.
I cannot wait to see the GOP ads on this one. Remember how Progressives attacked Paul Ryan for his Medicare voucher program? While Ryan’s program would not affect those 55 and older, Obama will. What a peach of a guy.
As far back as 2009, I pointed out that Barack Obama through Obamacare would throw the very people who vote and praise him under the bus, i.e., the poorest people in the country. I also indicated that Obama that under the bus is where Obama wants seniors and the disabled because has no love for them.
SUNDAY MORNING 8/12: Thirteen minutes, thirteen seconds of Progressive propaganda and tainted realities.
Consummate liar, Wackerman Schultz first embarked on this week’s wave of deception Sunday morning on Fox News Sunday which led to her being called out and challenged repeatedly by FNC host, John Roberts. Schultz refused to let go of the Progressive talking points and lies, as if her life depended on it.
Wasserman started with Mediscare talking points (all-untrue) and then moved on to Priorities USA. It goes downhill from there with each lie becoming nastier than the last.
(8:20)“….First of all that’s a Priorities USA it’s not a Democratic ad, it’s a Priorities USA ad which we have nothing to do with…I, I have no idea of the political affiliation of the folks who are associated with that SuperPAC…That is a SuperPAC ad that is not associated with the campaign or with the party…”
Knowing that she lied…..badly and fooled no one, hours later, little Debbie attempted to cover the deception by exacerbating it in a Tweet (screenshot below).
Debbie Wasserman Schultz Tweet re Priorities USA SuperPAC lie SCREENSHOT 08122012
Apparently Schultz was never taught that it is in poor taste to cover a lie with another and then another and so on.
If you can stomach more, we will move on to —
MONDAY, AUGUST 13 (morning)
R&R Will Make Seniors “Choose Between Medicine & Meals…Paying Rent & Literally Surviving?” Really, lying Debbie?
Seniors and the disabled are forced to make such choices today and if Obamacare is allowed to stand, it will only get worse.
“…Last week, a new Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report updated the amount of money Obamacare robs out of Medicare from $500 billion to a whopping $716 billion between 2013 and 2022….”
What is fair about that?
Btw, what is in the water at CNN? Soledad O’Brien meekly called the liar out on her Priorities USA SuperPAC lie at 4:07 of video.
“Soledad, of course I know that the Priorities USA SuperPAC is a Democratic affiliated SuperPAC. The point I was trying to make was that that ad was produced by a separate organization, an organization that we don’t coordinate with, that we have nothing to do with and the bottom line of that ad is that it was making the point that it was making the point and the individual in that ad was making the point that Mitt Romney’s claim to fame and the predicate for his candidacy for president is that he had private sector experience….” (The lies continue.)
Monday 8/13 mid-afternoon: DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz Gets (Totally) Blitzed By Wolf on False Medicare Attacks
There is nothing more entertaining than to trap a despicable liar mid-lie and to observe their fraught efforts to carry on the deception. Desperate to deceive, they instantly become flustered and blow it EVERYTIME. Enjoy.
How can one justify deceiving others? One cannot if one has any honor and integrity but Progressives lacking both will back a liar every time.
Americans are no longer buying it. Thus, it is not going to be a good week for Progressives.
School aide Kelly Chaffins (left) and teacher Christie Wilt were accused of bullying a 14-year-old developmentally disabled girl in Columbus, Ohio. Image courtesy of via schoolbullyingcouncil.com/NYDN
“COLUMBUS, Ohio – A couple raising a 14-year-old developmentally disabled student say they hid a recording device on the girl to prove a teacher and school aide were bullying her, and the audio and subsequent investigations have led to a lawsuit, the aide’s resignation and disciplinary action for the teacher.
The girl’s mother and the woman’s longtime boyfriend said in court documents that they complained about the mental and emotional abuse to school officials in the Miami Trace district, about 30 miles southwest of Columbus, and then secretly recorded instructors’ comments for four days last spring after their claims were rebuffed.
In the recording, voices identified as aide Kelly Chaffins and teacher Christie Wilt are heard questioning the girl’s weight and how active she is and making derogatory comments about her character and the character of her mother and the boyfriend.
‘Are you that damn dumb? Are you that dumb?’ Chaffins said. ‘Oh, my God. You are such a liar. … You told me you don’t know. It’s no wonder you don’t have friends. No wonder nobody likes you. Because you lie, cheat … steal.”
As a nation, we must really pay closer attention to those we entrust our children to.
There are far too many so-called educators who should be kept as far as humanly possible away from our children. It does not help that they are often caught AFTER they have taken a child’s innocence and destroyed a child’s confidence.
Jim Gourdie of Conservatives on Fire comments on a recent case in Florida where a mother and father sued a doctor because of the birth of their son: On September 9, a West Palm Beach jury awarded parents Rodolfo Santana and Ana Mejia $4.5 million because they did not get accurate information from Dr. Marie Morel and OB/GYN Specialists of the Palm Beaches. Their son Bryan Santana, now age 3, was born disabled. He has no arms and only one leg. The …Read More
