~ “I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts.” Ronald Reagan.
Justina Pelletier, the 16-year-old Connecticut girl taken from her parents more than a year ago after two hospitals clashed over her diagnosis, told Fox News’ Mike Huckabee in an emotional interview Saturday that no child should go through the ordeal she went through at the hands of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.
‘I’m like, ‘Yeah, this should never happen again to anybody.’ To any kid or any person. They should never be put through what I’ve been put through, Pelletier said on ‘Huckabee’ Saturday evening. ‘And they were so mean and nasty to mean and they were being mean and terrible to my family also. And no-one should be put through that….’

Outside a youth home in Framingham, Mass., between 50 and 80 people gathered peacefully in below freezing temperatures and prayed for a Connecticut teen at the center of a high-profile custody battle. The vigil held Saturday at Wayside Youth and Family Support Network was for Justina Pelletier, who has been in state care against her parents wishes for more than a year after a disagreement over a medical diagnosis. A message needs to be sent to overreaching bureaucrats after Justina is safely back with her family. I suggest we start by prosecuting bureaucrats, doctors, hospital officials/administration. Put them all out to dry.

Desperate to save his daughter’s life, Lou Pelletier defied a judge’s gag order this week when he spoke with Glenn Beck about the custody battle, medical treatment and diagnoses of his 15-year-old daughter Justina Pelletier.
Because Pelletier did what any parent would do, the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families is now moving to have Justina’s dad held in contempt of court.
…The source, who asked to remain anonymous fearing further legal repercussions, said Tuesday the state’s DCF filed that Pelletier be held in contempt of court for breaking the order, using stories on TheBlaze and one that appeared last week in the New York Daily News as evidence.
Fifteen year old, Justina Pelletier, was diagnosed a few years ago with mitochondrial disease, a genetic disorder capable of causing weakness and loss of muscle coordination.
In spite of her diagnosis and treatment Justina continued to live a normal life until last year when she caught the flu which ended her up in Boston Children’s Hospital.
This where the Pelletier’s nightmare begins as things take a strange turn courtesy of overreach and the nanny state.
At Boston Children’s Hospital, Justina was re-diagnosed by another group of doctors with somatoform disorder.
The team of doctors then told Justina’s parents that they could not remove their daughter out of the hospital. The hospital called DCF, had the parents escorted out of the hospital by security and four days later the Pelletiers lost custody of their daughter. They have been fighting to regain custody of Justina ever since. See my November 23, 2013 post entitled “Boston med facility assumes custody of teen because parents disagree with diagnosis.”
