“I feel uncomfortable about the word ‘hero’ because it seems to me that it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war. Um, and, I don’t want to obviously desecrate or disrespect the memory of anyone that’s fallen, and obviously there are individual circumstances in which there is genuine, tremendous heroism, you know, hail of gunfire, rescuing fellow soldiers, and things like that. But it seems to me that we marshal this word in a way that is problematic. But maybe I’m wrong about that…”
Ann Coulter remark aside, the commenter in the video above is dead on in his assessment of Chris Hayes.
TIDBIT: In June 2011, Chris Hayes referred to his parents, one of whom was trained as a community organizer “for people who had trained with [Saul] Alinsky” as heroic figures?
According to an AlterNet puff piece on Chris Hayes (excerpted below),
…Today his parents both work for the City of New York: Geri, a former schoolteacher, works for the NYC Department of Education, and Roger, after many years of community organizing, does health advocacy work in East Harlem for the NYC Department of Health. His younger brother is the Nevada state director for Organizing For America, the grassroots group built from the lists of the 2008 Obama campaign.
‘My parents are totally amazing, heroic figures,’ Hayes says…
…Hayes found the path to political journalism by taking the long route (which he completed at a sprinter’s pace), studying neither journalism nor politics in college. He met his wife while attending Brown, where both sat on the board of a student-run black-box theater called the Production Workshop. They were 19 years old. Though a philosophy major, Hayes says, “I did a lot of theater. That’s mostly what I did. I directed in plays, I acted in plays, I wrote plays….
Two days after they were married in 2007, he and Shaw moved to Washington, D.C., where she commenced her clerkship with Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens. (She’s now associate counsel in the White House Counsel’s office.)…
Not only is Chris Hayes a moron, shill and an elitist degenerate for MSNBC/Media Matters and the White House, Hayes like everyone else in the Progressive movement does not get it.
Without the valiant men and women who have given of themselves so selflessly, Hayes and his merry crew of Progressives would have choked long ago on the backfiring of that hammer and sickle to which they have declared allegiance.
Instead, this Marxist sob chokes on the word “hero”? I am appalled.
Even if Hayes butched up tenfold to one-third that of Rachel Maddow, he could never withstand more than ten seconds of what our HEROES endure daily on the battlefield and away from home.
One who gives so much, in my book, is not only courageous but the tallest of men and women, i.e., a hero.
As for Chris Hayes, MSNBC, Media Matters, Barack Obama and comrades, shove your test balloons where the sun does not shine.
UPDATE: Earlier today, Chris Hayes was ripped to shreds on the NBC Today Show for being such a disrespectful arse. Of course, Matt Lauer, another pompous elitist bastard, attempted to give Hayes cover.
Are they trying to stir things up because their ratings or so horrible and they are looking for any kind of publicity? Or are they really that snobby & that stupid? I think it’s the latter.

Good evening Freedom.
I suspect that this may yet be another attempt by Obama to re-write history and/or to undermine the true meaning of Memorial Day just as he and Progressives have attempted to do with September 11th. Remember for Obama it is all about transformation and the nudge. Bottom line is we need to get this Marxist out of office, stop him in his tracks,i.e., stop this disease known as Progressivism in its tracks.

It’s things like this that piss me off…
Typical liberal punk, spouting off.
Lemmie tell you guys a story which happened a month ago. My youngest son was in the pinewood derby at our local church/school. Long of the short, he went on to the nationals. My father-in-law (with whom I have never seen eye to eye) ran his union brainwashed, mouth.
They split after weigh-in, so that they could go get lunch. They had concessions there, but they wanted something else. Whatever, that’s their perogative.
After being gone from his grandson’s compettition for over 2 hours, dad-in-law proceeds to tell me about the proprietor of the place where they ate….
“Bruce” described the guy who waited on him and served him his food as a “a gnarley, ‘Nam vet’ looking guy.”
I snapped a gasket, Puma! I sat there and heard his rant (in front of his grandson) and the rose to inform him that MY FATHER is a Nam Vet, as well as all my uncles!
Then I went on to tell him about 3 employees of mine who are not only Nam Vets, but far from “gnarley” as he described them.
I (in front of his grandson, my son) informed him that his weak wristed, attempt at putting people beneath his fat, ran to Canada for college ass, was not only pissing me off, but insulting to the obvious “Nam Vets” in the room.
It never clicked in his mind. I come from a family of Rangers, and when people like this (as well as my kid’s mom’s dad, begin to weigh in, over things they know nothing of…
My blood boils.
Punks… That’s all they are. I have brothers who served, and as a family, we’re greatful they made it back. My middle brother is getting married in two months, he’s discharged free and honorable, and we’re all about honoring him as a war hero and a promise for a new tomorrow.
When guys like “Bruce”, along with that douchebag Chris Hayes talking like they know something, I want to clobber someone.
Try this on for size, asshole… Try putting your kid brother on a bus to bootcamp, knowing that you can’t be there to protect him when he ships out of country.
Get a call from your mom over a letter that you kid brother sent to her a month ago, saying he was scared shitless, after getting pinned down in a crossfire, and there’s no word if he’s alive.
Try getting a Skype message between you and you brother getting cut short, because incomming fire came, and suddenly everyone went on alert, and you don’t know what happened.
Useful idiots like Chris Hayes have no clue. When you grow up thinking that your family will always be there, and they go off somewhere, and you know that they might be killed… It’s real.
This country of our is worth risking death for. I’m just glad that my little brothers are home and not going back. They paid theirs, and unAmerican pieces of crap like Hayes need to shut their mouths.
If not for the young men and women on the front line, they wouldn’t be free to speak stupid, so freely.
