The bottom line is this.  Why is the President of the United States’ aunt living in a housing project?  Besides Michelle and the girls, this woman is the closest blood Obama has in this country and considering the United States is a nation of family values, why hasn’t Obama done better by this woman?  If Obama won’t do better by his aunt, then why should the American people expect him to do better by us?  As far as I am concerned, Obama’s inaction or minimal action speaks volumes as to who this man really is and his core values or lack thereof.

BOSTONHERALD.COM

“With her deportation hearing still six months away, the controversial Kenyan aunt of President Obama has quietly resurfaced in public housing in South Boston, the Herald has learned.

‘Beggars can’t be choosers,’ Obama’s ‘Auntie Zeituni’ Onyango, 57, told the Herald yesterday with a mischievous smile, wearing a string of pearls and a sleeveless forest-green sheath she said her nephew bought her years before he became leader of the free world.

‘I’d like to live in a castle and have a limousine,’ she said, ‘but I don’t. My wealth is my health.’

Zeituni Polly Onyango, the half-sister of Obama’s late father Barack Obama Sr., moved into a discreet apartment complex this past month while she waits to fight a Feb. 4, 2010, removal proceeding brought against her by the Department of Homeland Security in U.S. Immigration Court in Boston.

Onyango, a computer programmer, was ordered to leave the country in 2004 after her request for political asylum from the violence in Africa was turned down. Instead, she stayed illegally and was revealed to be living in government-subsidized housing on Flaherty Way in Southie last October by The Times of London during the final stretch of Obama’s run for the White House.

Though reluctant to discuss her case yesterday, Onyango bristled when asked if she’ll request her nephew stand up for her as a character witness.

‘Why should he?’ she said. ‘My problem is my problem. I carry my own cross. I’m an adult.’

Mike Rogers, spokesman for the Cleveland, Ohio, law firm representing Onyango, said her attorneys are ‘not discussing legal strategy,’ but, ‘they’re very optimistic about the outcome.’

Rogers said Onyango is ‘very proud’ of Obama. ‘For a woman who has a lot of things against her, she seemed to be of strong spirit,’ he said.

Attorneys Margaret Wong and Scott Bratton have asked that Onyango’s immigration hearing be closed to the public, according to Elaine Komis, a spokeswoman for the Executive Office for Immigration Review, an agency of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Onyango said she’s been enjoying her privacy since escaping the heat of last year’s worldwide spotlight on her and enjoys joining in on conversations about her nephew with people who don’t recognize her.

‘Boston is my second home,’ she said. ‘(South Boston) is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever lived in. People are very kind, and I’m enjoying the beaches.”

Better yet, Michelle Obama is the mother, wife and the nurturer of the family.  Why hasn’t she done better?  What is she teaching her daughters and why hasn’t she demanded that her husband do better by his aunt?

The Obama’s cannot talk to the African American community about family or the rest of the country for that matter, when they themselves are blindly lacking in core family values.

Michelle Obama hit the roof when Ty Company marketed two new Beanie baby dolls by the names of “Sweet Sasha” and “Marvelous Malia” as an addition to their “TyGirlz Collection.”

CLEVELAND.COM

“First lady Michelle Obama’s press secretary, Katie McCormick Lelyveld, said Thursday that it was ‘inappropriate to use young, private citizens for marketing purposes.”

In March, the African American community went into an uproar when two or three restaurants in NYC renamed their restaurants Obama’s Fried Chicken.  The name change while meant to honor Obama for some reason offended the African American community who chose to protest.  Many in the African American community accused the restaurant owners of racism and stereotyping.  I am not trying to be funny here but it is no secret that many of the protesters were also customers.

Hence, the owner(s) of these restaurants who served the African American community for at least two decades, in spite of the ridiculous claims were forced to rename the restaurants.

Hypocrisy all around is not by a long shot in short supply and capitalism apparently is selectively not dead or dying.  Or could it be that Obama supporters have not read the memo.

Proof in point.  Obama Condoms.  Yes, I said “Obama Condoms.”

My niece visited me last week from North Carolina.  As with all families and friends from the south, when they come to New York, the first thing they want to do is shop. And so we went shopping.  I took her to 125th Street.  I have not been on 125th Street in over 15 years.

Imagine my surprise when I saw vendors on the streets of Harlem selling Obama Condoms.  These vendors were doing a brisk business out in the open with signs that read….you guessed it…Obama Condoms.  Not only are they selling Obama Condoms on 125th Street, but the street vendors in Times Square are doing a brisk business selling this product as well.

Obama Condoms are so popular that they can be purchased on several sites over the internet, as indicated below.

The following is the home page to BuyObamaCondoms.

When clicking on to this page, you hear what sounds like Barack Obama’s saying, “Fire it up, ready to go.”

Knowing that it is almost impossible to control marketing use of Obama’s name, I still can’t help but notice the level of hypocrisy of forcing a restaurant chain to change its name as opposed to the marketing of prophylactics in the name of Obama.  I understand that this particular product has been available on the market for several months now and yet there has been no uproar by anyone.  Hypocrisy is clearly in full bloom as protesters are nowhere in sight.

(7.30.09) Ted Williams, a criminal defense attorney, joins Greta Van Susteren to offer his thoughts on Obama’s Photo Op “Beer Summit” which took place in the Rose Garden of the White House last evening.

I enjoy Fox, but some of their reporters love the sound of their own voices just a little too much and because of that what could have been a great interview becomes a good interview.  Speaking of which, while I am a fan of Greta’s, it should be noted that the interview would have been far more informative if Greta could have just shut up and listened a little more.

Moving on, it should be noted as Mr. Williams confirms, that this IS NOT a case of racial profiling, therefore, Sgt. Crowley has nothing to apologize for.  It is Obama and Gates who have played the game, thus setting the fight against racial profiling back decades along with racial progress.

Where and when racial profiling is comitted will not change.  Furthermore, the media spent the past week spinning a bogus account of racial profiling while hundreds of African Americans and Latinos continue to be racially profiled on the streets and roads of the United States and not one outlet has reported on any of those cases.

Obama and Gates have spun a tale and the media has not stepped up to the plate to call them on it.  Where are the African American journalists and why aren’t they at least speaking up?

Harvard educated Professor Gates living the American dream far away from the ills of Black and Latino America has somehow convinced himself that finally, he has experienced a so-called rite of passage because he like the brothers in the hood has now been profiled.  I beg to differ.  The only racial profiling here is in the make believe minds of the partiesw who perpetuated this fallacy and their desire to play the media and the American people.

Courtesy of Investigating Obama. It’s so on point, it’s scary.  Wake up America or regret it.  Already Obama has been in office less than a year and we are starting barely recognize our country.

GOP USA

“President Barack Obama’s much-anticipated pro-United Nations treaty campaign has been launched with a White House ceremony declaring support for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. But despite the title and language of the treaty, including the affirmation of a ‘right to life,’ it is doubtful whether the treaty would protect the rights of unborn children with disabilities, such as those with Down syndrome.

Through its affirmation of ‘sexual and reproductive health’―a phrase that clearly means access to abortion and abortion rights―the treaty also supports abortion, even though it has been estimated that over 90 percent of pregnancies in the United States with a diagnosis of Down syndrome are terminated through abortion.

This controversial aspect of the seemingly non-controversial treaty has been completely ignored in the many stories hailing Obama’s endorsement of the ‘legally binding’ measure. However, it explains why a pro-abortion administration would support such a measure. This treaty, for the first time in history, establishes an international right to abortion…”

Obama Hedges on Mandatory Community Services for the Disabled

PRO PUBLICA

“President Obama signed a measure [1] last week recognizing the rights of people with disabilities around the world. The United Nations Convention Proclamation on the Rights of People with Disabilities calls for equality in access to public services, medical care and other services.

It also called for the right for people to choose where they live: ‘To recognize the equal right of all persons with disabilities to live in the community, with choices equal to others.’

Yet in the United States, many people with disabilities do not have that choice.

We reported in June [2] that thousands of people nationwide want to live on their own, but instead remain in nursing homes, rehabilitation centers or state hospitals, often at a higher cost to taxpayers because of a historic bias toward institutional care. In 1999, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled [3] that funding services for Medicaid recipients who live in institutions — and not those who live in the community — violated the Americans with Disabilities Act.

‘Signing a U.N. Convention proclamation doesn’t give anybody freedom,’ said Bruce Darling, a disability activist with ADAPT from Rochester. ‘We are still forcing people to live in nursing homes.’

Disability groups have pushed for legislation, such as the proposed Community Choice Act, which would allow people with disabilities to stay at home. Medicaid guarantees service in a nursing home for those who need that level of care, but similar services in the community are optional.

Measures have been introduced in Congress for several years that would allow people to choose [4] where they want services. When President Obama was in the Senate, he co-sponsored such legislation. But since he has been in the White House, Obama has not said he will support moves to make community services mandatory.

In June, Obama called for increased spending on independent living services and directed HUD to provide vouchers to individuals trying to move out of institutions.

A White House spokesman told ProPublica ‘the President believes that investing in health and long-term services for people with disabilities is an important national priority,’ but would not say whether the President will support legislation to make community services mandatory.

‘Ultimately this becomes a bureaucratic conversation about spending health care dollars,’ activist Darling said. ‘And we completely lose the concept that this is a civil rights issue for Americans. No other group gets locked up like this. No one would stand for it.”

Long before Obama started plugging Obamacare, I always felt that he just had no interest in the disabled, the elderly, or those who are ill, whether it is mentally or physically.  Obama lives in his own little perfect world.  I get the feeling that anything Obama considers less than perfect in his little mind is simply not worth dwelling on.

It is a cruel evaluation of the man, however to date Obama has not proven me wrong.  See:  Comment on Obama ADA Speech: ‘We’re Screwed’

Actually, the homeless are given the choice to leave New York City. Nevertheless, the ride is free and part of a $500,000-a-year Bloomberg administration program meant to keep the homeless out of the homeless shelters….in New York.

The cost is $36,000 per family, and in some cases families are advanced up to four month’s rent, a one-month security deposit, a furniture allowance and a broker’s fee.

The program, which has been in effect since 2007, has relocated over 550 families to destinations unlimited, which include 24 states and 5 continents.

Bloomberg understandably is being criticized for outsourcing New York City’s homeless.

NYT

“I don’t know, when they get to the other places, whether they find jobs,; Mr. Bloomberg said. ‘It may be an easier place for them. If we don’t — we either have two choices. We can do this program or pay an enormous amount of money daily to provide housing.’

But Mr. Bloomberg appeared sensitive to the image of flying homeless families to far-flung places, as the program is set up to do. In the past two years, families have been provided one-way tickets to Haiti, Peru, Mexico City, St. Croix, Trinidad and Tobago, Ukraine, Santo Domingo and Casablanca. (The most popular destinations are Puerto Rico, Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.)”

What happens when these families return to New York City as I suspect more than a handful will do?  The City wont’ turn them away. Therefore, the City will find itself back to square one and spending more taxpayer dollars to care for these families.

While the program is well-intended, I expect it to back fire since the rule of law in many of these locations if you don’t get up and work, you starve. Furthermore, no matter how poor you are in New York, you’re rich compared to being poor in other countries, even other states.

I realize it cost money to fly back to New York.  However, living in a sanctuary city, I can’t help but notice how easy it is for even the poorest immigrant to get back to New York.
