Apparently someone missed the memo that states “if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it’s a duck.”

Kudos to Fox’ Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly who have the cohones to do what the rest of msm will not, and that is put the spotlight on the illegal activities of ACORN because a nut by any other name is still a nut.

In the meantime, ACORN desperately looking to keep the federal dollars coming in is changing its name to “Community Organizations International”.  In addition to changing their name, the organization of many has embarked upon a campaign of intimidation, harassment and litigation against whisteblowers.

“Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) leaders are using the threat of a law suit to silence and intimidate critics, according to current and former members of the liberal activist group.

In a letter dated June 11 an attorney for ACORN advised top whistleblowers that their unauthorized use of the organization’s name could make them liable for monetary damages and injunctive relief.

ACORN executives have also changed their organization’s name, which was tarnished by investigations in at least 14 states of allegations of voter registration fraud during the 2008 presidential campaign, and charges by current and former members of financial mismanagement and misrepresentation.

The new name will let ACORN leaders continue their operations without worrying about prior bad publicity, according to Marcel Reid of ACORN 8, a group of present and former members.

‘We’ve known for many months now that the name ACORN is going to be retired,’ Reid said. ‘The name has been so damaged to the point where the leadership knows it simply can’t go on as it has with the ACORN label out front and center, especially after all of the reporting.’

In fact, the process has already begun, she noted. Wade Rathke, who founded the organization, announced on his blog that ACORN International has officially changed its name to ‘Community Organizations International.’

Reid also said ACORN is in the process of dismantling Citizen’s Consulting Inc. (CCI), a New-Orleans based non-profit, which has been used to maintain centralized financial control, ACORN 8 activists claim. Tax records show that CCI is interlinked with several ACORN affiliates.”

So where is the forensic audit or is Rathke jumping through loopholes to avoid it?  Amazing how an organization of thugs with the president’s blessing can be so threatening.  Regardless, ACORN must be held accountable for its fraudulent activities and must not be allowed to escape unscathed.

“The Iranian government employs foreigners as anti-riot police and Palestinian Hamas members and Lebanese Hezbollah militiamen are currently assisting the regime in its attempt to crush massive street protests in the streets of Tehran.

According to Voice of America and Der Spiegel, there are as many as 5,000 Lebanese Hezbollah militiamen in Iran, being used to control the protesters. These militiamen are often easily identified by their screams in Arabic…”

I do not pretend to understand any of this, but one would think that this is a game changer.  Anyone feel that way.  How can these people live with each themselves. And to hell with the Iranian government and hope for a relationship with the United States. How bad for POTUS who compromised, bowed and kissed ass.

NEWSWEEK Reporter Detained

Maziar Bahari Tehran taken into custody

“On Sunday morning in Tehran, Newsweek’s Maziar Bahari was detained without charge by Iranian authorities and has not been heard from since. Mr. Bahari is a Canadian citizen and a renowned journalist and filmmaker, who has been living in and covering Iran for the past decade. Newsweek strongly condemns this unwarranted detention, and calls upon the Iranian government to release him immediately.

Mr. Bahari’s coverage of Iran, for Newsweek and other outlets, has always been fair and nuanced, and has given full weight to all sides of the issues. He has worked well with different administrations in Tehran, including the current one.  Since the elections over 20 journalists and bloggers have reportedly been detained; the seizure of innocent journalists is a violation of the right to a free press in Iran. Newsweek asks that world governments use whatever influence they have with the government in Tehran to make clear that this detention is unwarranted and unacceptable, and to demand Mr. Bahari’s release.”

Who’s Behind Tehran’s Violence?

“There is no English equivalent for the Farsi words Efraat and Tafrit. They refer to the possibility of extremism on both sides of an issue, and they were much in use during the third day of peaceful marches in Tehran on Wednesday.

Despite official warnings against gathering, at least half a million people marched along a street in central Tehran Wednesday afternoon to protest the reelection of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a vote that many believe was blatantly rigged. After three days of ignoring the demonstrators, who believe opposition candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi was the true victor, state-run Iranian television showed some images of Wednesday’s activities. But its reporters chose to talk only to the ordinary citizens on the sidelines, who complained about the Mousavi supporters as a nuisance who were creating traffic in the city and bringing businesses to a halt. The crowd was peaceful and quiet, as they have been in previous days. But a chant against the director of Iranian television, Ezatollah Zarghami, was one of the few slogans heard today. “Shame, Shame, Zarghami!” people intoned.”

“aden_ikar: RT @parasympathic NEWS!! Guardian Council admits: more votes than voters!!!!! THIS IS HUGE!!! #Iranelection RT RT RT RT RT RT #iran #tehran (6:42 p.m. twitter)”

“Claims that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s re-election was rigged have been bolstered by an analysis of the official results by British academics In the conservative provinces of Mazandaran and Yazd, the number of votes cast exceeded the number of eligible voters, the survey by researchers from the University of St Andrews and Chatham House, the London think-tank, found.

• Four more provinces recorded turnouts close to 100 per cent.

• To achieve the official results in 10 of the 30 provinces, the ultra-conservative President must have carried all the new voters who did not cast ballots in 2005, all the votes that went to his centrist rival Ali Akbar Hasemi Rafsanjani and up to 44 per cent of the votes that went to reformist candidates.

• Those provinces include ones dominated by ethnic minorities who seldom if ever vote conservative. ‘The numbers from Ilam, Lorestan and Hormozgan almost defy belief,’ said Thomas Rintoul, one of the researchers….”

While part of it is about a fraudulent election, it is about so much more as we may very well soon see.

ABC News will present a prime-time interview with President Barack Obama on health care June 24th.  So in furtherance to my blog of last week, Critics Attack ABC News for Refusing to Air Opposing Ads During Obama’s Health Care Special, below is a list of ABC sponsors.

It’s okay to say NO to ABC and Barack Hussein Obama.

The last thing we want is government owned and controlled television which is exactly where we are headed if we do not put an end to it NOW.  Adding insult to injury is the fact that ABC is refusing to air opposing views.  A clear message must be sent to ABC and its sponsors that an Obama Informercial is unwelcome and unacceptable and un-American and we will not tolerate it.

Hat tips to Pundit & Pundette and Carol at No Sheeples who came up with the idea of boycotting ABC and its sponsors, both of whom rule by the way and were very instrumental in putting together the list and some of the contact information as well.  I have furthe4r gone through the sponsor list and added some contact information as well.

“Iranian exiles in the U.S. are receiving calls from back home asking why President Obama has ‘given Khamenei the green light’ to crack down on the election protestors. To conspiracy-minded Middle Easterners, that is the obvious meaning of Obama’s equivocal response to the Iranian nation’s sudden and unexpected reach for freedom. How to explain that this interpretation is implausible? That the more likely reason for Obama’s behavior is that he is imprisoned in the ideology of loving your enemies and hating George W. Bush?Whatever the reason, Obama’s failure may destroy his presidency. His betrayal of democracy and human rights through a series of pronouncements and small actions during his first months in office had been correctable until now. But the thousand daily decisions that usually make up policy are eclipsed by big-bang moments such as we are now witnessing. Failure to use the bully pulpit to give the Iranian people as much support as possible is morally reprehensible and a strategical blunder for which he will not be forgiven….”

Less than two weeks ago, Barack Obama made a speech to the Islamic world.  He pretty much told them “I am here for you. I, Barack Hussein Obama, will be by your side.”

Unfortunately the youth of the world being young and gullible listened and took Barack Obama’s words at face value as did many others during last year’s election.  And last week, the youth of Tehran inspired and remembering the words of Barack Obama reacted to those words.  They rose up and set about on their quest for democracy for the whole world to see.  Little did they know that they were about to experience an epiphany.

Such epiphany would expose this American president as no other before him.  Barack Obama turned his back without blinking an eye on the very people he spoke to just days before.

The problem with teleprompters and Obama is that he immediately forgot his words as if they were never spoken about as fast as he chose to ignore those crying out for justice and democracy in the streets of Tehran.

In so doing, Obama has exposed himself to the world.  Such exposure may cost him the respect of other nations and his presidency because now everyone knows that Barack Hussein Obama is a hypocrite.

While Obama meant for his words to move the Islamic communities globally, the world realizes that Barack Obama is nothing more than an empty vessel incapable of communication without his speechwriters and teleprompter in tow.

Food for thought.  Since Barack Hussein Obama has been in office, we have witnessed our rights being infringed upon day after day, the appointment of czars and ongoing nationalization of the auto industry and banks….and this is just the beginning.

Obama is doing everything in his power to usurp and nullify the power of Congress and the Senate while diminishing the rights of Americans.  He has set about increasing the size, control and power of government in every aspect of American life.

Can it be that we have an administration where democracy, freedom and human rights have been placed on the back burner and will eventually find itself later on no longer an option for the United States?

How is it that since Obama has been in office, he has not discussed “democracy” or “human rights”?

“Obama seems to believe that democracy is overrated, or at least overvalued. When asked about the subject in his pre-inaugural interview with the Washington Post, Obama said that he is more concerned with “actually delivering a better life for people on the ground and less obsessed with form, more concerned with substance.” He elaborated on this thought during his April visit to Strasbourg, France:

‘We spend so much time talking about democracy—and obviously we should be promoting democracy everywhere we can. But democracy, a well-functioning society that promotes liberty and equality and fraternity, does not just depend on going to the ballot box. It also means that you’re not going to be shaken down by police because the police aren’t getting properly paid. It also means that if you want to start a business, you don’t have to pay a bribe. I mean, there are a whole host of other factors that people need . . . to recognize in building a civil society that allows a country to be successful.’

Whether or not the President was aware of it, he was echoing a theme first propounded long ago by Soviet propagandists and later sung in many variations by all manner of Third World dictators, Left to Right. It has long since been discredited by a welter of research showing that democracies perform better in fostering economic and social well being, keeping the peace, and averting catastrophes. Never mind that it is untoward for a President of the United States to speak of democracy as a mere ‘form,’ less important than substance.”

Happy Father's Day

Whether this is a momentary thing I am not sure, but I would not want to bet my conscious on it.  The world must not turn a blind eye to what is going on on the whim that it is a momentary lapse of the people of Iran.
