The Illinois House of Representatives voted 114-1 on Friday to impeach Gov. Rod Blagojevich on corruption charges that include allegedly trying to sell the U.S. Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama.
Blagojevich is scheduled hold a news conference this afternoon at 3 p.m.
The article of impeachment — essentially an indictment — now goes to the state Senate for a trial. A two-thirds vote is required there to convict Blagojevich and remove him from office. The trial will be presided over by the chief justice of the Illinois Supreme Court and could begin as early as Jan. 26.
In the state Senate trial, impeachment managers and Blagojevich will have the opportunity to present witnesses and evidence.
If convicted by the Illinois Senate, Blagojevich would be removed from office and Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn would become acting governor.
So, with all th is pay to play going on, who is next? PEBO? What about Bill Richardson?

There’s a really great blog about Blagojevich on the humor website, freedomhaters.org. Through hyperlinks, they took the headline story, “Blagojevich still defends his actions in office despite overwhelming vote,” and showed the true meaning behind the words.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich is just the tip of the iceberg with regard to Chicago Politics. I for one do not believe that we are anywhere near understanding the full level of corruption in Illinois. Anyone who thinks that someone like President elect Obama whom was basically born of “Chicago politics” is not himself corrupt or at minimum beholding and complicit to this pool of septics are themselves dillusional. The house that impeached him should also impeach themselves if they truly want to rid Chicago of corruption. It is obvious to me that what we are dealing with here is just a vindictive response to a maverick criminal who betrayed the packs code. He did not abide by the holy plan in allowing for Obamas Pick of the litter. After all it must be made sure that the vacancy left by the “Holy One” is filled by only those worthy of his holiness and reverance. There is only one who could make such and enlightend choice and that would be the holy one himself… Obama
We all need to Wake up and smell the coffee…

Kudos. Very well said. It is said that he is a disgrace to the nation. If so, then he is not alone, so are the rest of Illinois’ grimy politicians. That would make PEBO part of the disgrace and a part of the corruption. After all, it is the Chicago Way and Blagojevich, the court that impeached him and crew are all students as all are guilty of the same sin. Blagojevich’s punishment is that he did not play ball with the very same powers who not long ago were beholden to Blagojevich. So here we have it, he must be taught a lesson, made an example of, banished, by any means necessary.

Yeah but did you watch the press conference? Wow.

l’m still getting over the conference, lol. It remains clear though that Blagojevich is not going anywhere QUIETLY. He knows where the bodies are buried and I suspect he will take a few with him.
